Sennheiser wireless headphones incompatibility

Hi. I have a set of Sennhieser HDR 170 wireless headphones that I have used successfully with my previous Unitron aids. I am trying out Phonak Naida Q90 aids but I cannot get the headphones to work with them. On the Tcoil setting there is buzzing in both ears, as soon as the headphones are switched on. Using the mic setting there is awful feedback, even when the aid volume is turned down three pips. My Audi did seem to fix this but on the last consultation must have altered something because I am back at square one. I have used an old pair of wired Panasonic headphones with the Q90 s with success on both Tcoil and mic settings, so I am assuming the problem lies with the wireless set up, and the Phonak aids not being compatible somehow.

Does anyone have any experience of this? As a last resort I suppose I will have to use the streaming devices from Phonak, but I only bought the headphones about 18 months ago at great expense, so would rather be able to use them.

Can’t specifically answer, but I use the same Sennheiser’s with Oticon Alta Pro no issues. My hearing is a little better so I also can take the aids off & just use the Sennheiser.

I have Phonak Ambra HA’s and use Sennheiser TR146 wireless headphones with them. I must admit that I occasionally hear some feedback noises in the background but not to a huge extent. This noise is present whether or not the headphones are on or off and must be related to the HA’s alone. When I turn down the HA volume about three clicks, the noise all but disappears. I prefer using the Sennheisers over the ComPilot and TV Link which are flaky at the best of times.

You already mentioned the solution: reduction of the volume when using the headphones. After all, this will allow you to hear better the bass and avoids the feedback … It’s what I always do.
