I took a screen grab of the Costco memo from reddit before it was deleted. Maybe you should add it to your article.

I’m not feeling the excitement. Why would you go for this over the two other remaining offerings at Costco?

Exactly, the lack of Bluetooth LE Audio / Auracast is a complete disappointment.

Possible reasons to prefer this aid to other Costco aids. 1)High frequency loss and prefer Sonova’s frequency lowering system. 2) Want universal BT connectivity that works now. 3)Just used to Sonova products.

Plus, Costco customers who are not members of this forum are unlikely to make much of a distinction between the offerings and are likely to take what the Costco HAS suggests.

I tried the others at costco and very underwhelmed. The Jabra was the only aid that provided the crispness to words that my hearing requires but the reliability was bad in the 5 months i had them. I see a comment about these being good for high freq loss. Would these be comparable to the Resound/Jabra sound ? Are these based on an existing Sonova aid? I currently have the Resound One and very happy with them but would really like to use them as a backup to a new set if possible. Tnx

We believe these are similar to Phonak Lumity R. Sonova’s frequency lowering system should work well for your loss. It is much more adjustable than Resound’s system.

Thanks for that info.

Because it will work with my phone without my having to buy a new one; because it will work with the tv connector and Partner Mic I already have; because I want aids that will work with my phone the same way my KS9s do.

That said, I won’t know until I try them, which sounds like it will be a while where I live. They’ll have to improve my hearing at least a little over what the KS9s are doing or I’ll see if the Hearlink 9050s will do better, but having to buy the extra accessories would make the 9050s significantly more expensive.

I just was at Costco because my K10s needed repair so they were sent in. During the visit, I asked about Rexton loaners while mine out for repair. Was told, at that location, Rexton was being replaced and so Rexton loaners were a bad idea. I asked who is replacing them. Was told they didn’t know for sure. So now we know. Do I read this right? Is Phonak back to Costco?

Yes and no. Not technically Phonak but based on the same technology. Also sounds like it’s a trial. If things don’t go well, Costco may still end up saying no.

Where is your Costco?
Thanks

At least some Coscos in NJ have them.

Thanks, that’s why I ask.
Curious where they are available.
My wife just might update her KS9 aids.

The best I’ve heard is “back East” and Oregon and Washington.
