Selling my brand new widex allure hearing aids

Hello from Canada. I came across the forum this morning and thought I would post an ad for my new unused widex allure hearing aids. I had purchased these about a month ago to help with the severe tinitus I have, but have since managed to fall on hard times and sorta desperately need to sell them in order to pay rent and keep myself fed until things level out. I’m not sure what these aids cost in the US but I paid almost $4000 for them after taxes. That’s Canadian dollars of course. I am looking to sell these for $3000 Canadian if I can which I believe would be a good discounted price for folks down south. They come with a carry case, charger, full pack of earpiece replacement and the other cleaners etc. get in touch if you have any questions, I’ll do my best to answer. Thank you

What level of Allures are they? (440? 330?)

If you will sell them to a US buyer, please ensure you enter the export data correctly (Country of manufacture and hearing aid classification) or the buyer will get hit with very high tariffs (I just went through this (I paid USD $150 in US tariffs for my SmartRICs 440 that I paid CAD$400).

Also, if possible, use CanadaPost and not UPS (I was hit by a $50 UPS “export paperwork fee”).
The seller classified them as headphones made in China :frowning:

I hope things get better for you

Thank you. I will ensure to do as you mentioned. I too have been hit with huge customs fees and tariffs in the past bringing things up from the states. It hurts. As for the model number 330 or 440. I’m not seeing that written anywhere on the them. Only documentation of model I currently see is that of the manual itself which reads Widex ARRD1 ALLURE RIC R D. Any help to identify model would be greatly appreciated.

If you have an iPhone: Settings-> Accessability ->Hearing Devices - the model should be listed there. I don’t have an Android

You can’t return them? A month is usually within the return period.

A big portion of the cost was the associated service package they came with. There’s no option for DIY with the allures. Someone on the other end will have to repurchase that for themselves. They also lose their warranty beyond a year of they go out of country, if widex honors it at all for someone with the wrong name.

It’s worth seeing if you can work something out with your provider. Sometimes even outside of the trial period they can manage a special request with the manufacturer to return at partial credit. It’s worth at least asking if you haven’t.

Thank you. Yes I just found it. They are 440.

To be honest I didn’t even think of that. I’ll have to find the bundle of papers they gave me on the way out of the hearing center and look it over. Thank you

@Neville advice is the best – You will lose a lot of money if you sell them
