Samsung updated the S23 FE to One UI 7.0, Android 15 today, MAY 1, 2025.
Supposedly, it supports Auracast.
I haven’t seen any differences in ability to connect to an Auracast broadcast with a FlooCast FMA 120 updated to today’s software version on my Windows 11 PC.
I can provide the settings that allow me to stream to my Rexton BiCore hearing aids using the Sirius XM app, since I saw one fellow who was having streaming traditional bluetooth problems. I have blocked notifications and permissions are NOT allowed. It streams just fine once you pair bluetooth to your hearing aid, just start the sirius app and select your channel.
For Auracast, The settings that are supposed to appear on the phone bluetooth are not there on the S23 FE even after the upgrade. If anyone is successful, Please post it. I tried unpairing the other bluetooth devices, except the aids and direct pairing to the phone then reconnecting the phone. No joy.
Kings Point.
You may want to check whether your Rexton BiCore has firmware with Auracast support. If not, there’s now a new way to enable Auracast compatibility for hearing aids that can’t connect to Auracast on their own.
How did you turn off notifications? Is that in the Rexton app? I have Oticon Intents and can’t find an option to turn off notifications while streaming (they drive me crazy when I am watching TV with the TV Connector). I am running OneUI 7 and Android 15 on my Samsung Z Flip 6.
The notifications can be blocked in Android phones by clicking on system settings (the gear), scrolling down to apps, opening the app you want to change, clicking on permissions and turning off notifications.
Thank you Ranson, I continue to appreciate your help since I first contacted you at Flairmesh in August last year on the help email! The Samsung update did NOT allow Auracast on the Samsung Galaxy 23 FE. However, the settings you provided here along with the Receive hardware update does allow the 23 FE to receive Auracast broadcasts. The in-FMA120 app that launches on the phone is extremely easy to use. BZ! (Bravo Zulu, Well Done!)
It should work with most hearing aids that have bluetooth connections but no app for Auracast. I bought a second FMA120 so I could test it at home. A note for those who would test on their own setup: you can’t upgrade both FMA120s with the receive version of the software. You need to keep the receive .bin file and that dongle separate from the send dongle .bin file. If you mix them up and try to use the recieve as a send on the PC, it will not brick tha DONGLE but it won’t send/connect.
Addendum: the FMA120 and the Samsung 23 FE Auracast broadcast connection works through the Floocast app and then via the Rexton app to the BiCore hearing aids.
Ok, I misunderstood. I thought you were saying you blocked all notifications from going to the hearing aids while you were streaming Sirius. I would love to block notifications from being sent to the hearing aids when I am connected to the TV Connector.
