These are NHS Aids and I thought they only worked with iPhone / iPad.

EDIT - I was wrong. It’s ASHA compatible as well.

You’ve got to look for a phone that is equipped with ASHA technology as I believe not all Androids allow it.

via the following link you can find a official List of Samsung smartphones supporting ASHA bluetooth

==================================================================

with the following link you can find a list of Google Pixel smartphones with support of ASHA

Note HAP is the new standard for Bluetooth LE Audio (BLE Audio / Auracast)

From Pixel 3 onwards every Pixel smartphone is ASHA compatible.

From Pixel 7a onwards every Pixel phone support BLE Audio (exclude Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro which do not support BLE Audio)

First I have heard of the Hearing Access Profile (HAP) referring to LE Audio. Thank you!

From the link, for others benefit:

"Pixel phone compatibility & ratings

Certain Pixel phones can stream audio, like media and calls, directly to hearing aids over Android Streaming for Hearing Aids (ASHA) or the Bluetooth SIG profile Hearing Access Profile (HAP). These ASHA and HAP hearing aids connect to Pixel so you can stream audio and answer phone calls.

To use these functions, both the Pixel phone and the hearing aid need to support ASHA or both the Pixel phone and the hearing aid need to support HAP."

Think of buying a Samsung 16 5g phone any one got one.

I’m a bit late to the party here as I’ve only just joined the forum, but yes - I’ve just invested in a Samsung 16 5G and have started using it with my NHS hearing aids. Going really well so far!

I have the Philips HearLink 9050 from Costco, purchased in January. I just bought the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G, purchased through Tracfone, this past week. I have limited Bluetooth connectivity for streaming and phone calls. They show a message about being disconnected from time to time. Disclosure; I also have a Fitbit Charge 6 that connects to the phone as well so I wonder if this has anything to do with it. Thoughts?

Also the 16 5g shows Bluwtooth 5.3 LE A2DP, not ASHA . . . hmmmmm

FWIW.

Samsung A16 5G Phone
The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G supports ASHA (Audio Streaming from Hearing Aids) for hearing aid users. However, there is confusion regarding its availability across different regions. The feature is listed under Services and Applications on the UK and UAE webpages, but it is not mentioned on the US specs page. This discrepancy has caused frustration among users who need this functionality

I’ve got this phone and use it with phonak lumity, which support the standard Bluetooth but the phone is also equipped with Asha.

Good entry level phone, with real time subtitles for everything, including captions of phone calls (which only Pixel and Samsung phones support), a life saver for me (since I can’t still find a gold fitting for streamed phone calls).
