Running software on an M1 MacBook

Just for info and out of curiosity, I tried Phonak and Oticon and the Noahlink wireless on Windows under Parallels on an M1 MacBook Air. My main apps are Mac and so I have used parallels to integrate Windows for the Windows only stuff I have for many years. The Air is then a small and light, long battery life single package for me to take around.

Target installs and works (but see below).

Genie 2 does not install with any compatibility options settings.

Noahlink wireless driver does not install with any compatibility options settings. This is with the current latest firmware.

So, any Mac people using virtual Windows the gist is that you can’t yet upgrade to M1 processors from Intel.

Microsoft is actively working on the emulation inside Windows that already allows a great many Intel apps to work seamlessly and so I will repeat each time there’s a significant new Windows pack release.

I’ve just set my friend up with Phonak Target and a Noahlink Wireless.

My friend has a Mac Book and was using the same thing as you to get Target working with the Mac Book.

My friend did say that an older Mac Book would not work but I don’t understand why.

My Intel MacBook with parallels and windows works with no issues.

The M1 (apple tech) processor and the subsequent windows x86 emulation is the incompatibility. The driver for the Noahlink does not install so game over.

Windows emulation is a Microsoft priority so I will try each time a service pack comes out.
