I have a Roger On v3 and have been trying to connect it to my 2025 55" Samsung Frame TV that’s paired with an AppleTV 4k box. I once upon a time had this set up with an older TV, however have not deciphered what or how I did so to recreate with this. I have it connected to the optical port but nothing is streaming to it I think. Does anybody have experience what settings to adjust in the Samsung and Apple TV settings?
TV → audio cable (maybe a couple depending on the connectors on the TV [ maybe, if no 3.5 mm connector on tv] → Roger On 3.5 to usb media cable → Roger on or 3.5 mm to Roger on dock.
If you are using a TOSLINK cable, you sometimes have to change the TVs audio settings to stream to digital. I’ve done this a couple of times recently and every TV seems to be different. Some allow it passively, some don’t. You may not be allowed to use the TV speakers while streaming to TOSLINK.
I finally got it worked out. Was using Apple HomePod minis connected via BT/Airplay as the speakers and was gifted a new soundbar (Samsung S61D) this week. Removed HomePods and connected the soundbar via HDMI eArc port instead of wireless this time. Q-Symphony enabled. Got around to trying to get the Roger On to connect today and this time it simply just worked normally via the toslink like every other tv streaming devices. Plug and listen. No additional settings required like was the case with the HomePods and that required even more awkward changes if trying to stream while others listen like normal. Apple didn’t make it easy for listening devices to connect for sure!
Now just need Audi to make a program to raise the volume of the Roger On v3 + Roger 21s.
