Roger on v Roger select

I obviously don’t know but I thought the whole serial number thing was just for being able to take the software license out of the Roger X receiver and putting it into the Phonak compatible hearing aid.

I don’t think older Roger X receivers are obsolete–you just can’t pull a license out of them. Happy to be shown wrong.

Does this mean I need to take it newest Reciever series number 1744 xx to the audio to activate? Is there other way round to it?

You are right.

I don’t know why serial numbers are being talked about here as @Sara82 has Oticon Xceed Aids so serial numbers don’t matter at all.

Once her EasyGain is adjusted on her current Roger X Aids, they’ll work for her.

Gotta go. Hope @Sara82 doesn’t get too confused on this matter.

EasyGain can be adjusted via a Roger On or Roger Select only as you have Roger 03 receivers.

Zebras - thank you for your input. Can a private Audio access to Easygain software as Im really struggling to get an appt with NHS? I’m in wales.

I’m so sorry for you being away and internet over the aboard can’t be easy for you. Again, I really appreciate your support has been immensely appreciate.

I am so glad I found this forum as I was in a dark place with Noone can help me with problems I was having with connection. Thought I was crazy!!! So I am not alone!

You can do it yourself with just a Roger On or Select.

Older Tech, usually isn’t compatible with newer Tech, if the Shoes are 2022, and the receivers 2014, there may well be a clash… But since, I don’t use direct input Shoes, I have no way of actually knowing… If the Roger ALD, isn’t connecting properly, then it’s the Shoes, Roger X Receivers, or indeed the aids? Trying the setup on the exact same aids would be beneficial if the OP knows someone with the same aids? Tis a case of hunting down the culprit… Cheers Kev.

I’ve been told a couple times that there is more gain available with the type 02 licenses, but the HCP needs to know what they are doing, too.

I’ll try to summarize what at least some of us think.
Your Roger X type 03 receivers should work.
To be able to confirm you will need either a Roger Select or a Roger On. Note: There is no benefit in getting an iN version for you. After you get one of the above Roger devices you should be able adjust the gain via EasyGain. The main advantage of a Roger On over a Select is that it can be used in pointing mode to converse with a speaker standing near you. Both Select and On can be used in table mode.

Well, I found an invoice backdated 2014 from Connevans (good job, Ive kept it in my ‘important’ box) It turned out the Reciever 03 code I bought is 3PROGERX3.

Home | Connevans

Now, it turns out that I may need to
Purchase the below Reciever

Home | Connevans.

Or does my current Reciever work with easygain access via Roger on or I need to buy a Reciever with 4db gain?

As @Zebras said, you can do this yourself. Hold the Roger On near your hearing aids (on a table makes it easier), hold the Roger within a couple if inches from the hearing aids, push the large button on the front for about 9 seconds or until you see a V. You will see in small numbers the amount of additional gain already programed in the Roger, It is probably 0% but it may not be. Using the large button, step through additional settings. The settings will increment by 2db with each push until you get to 8db and it will go to -4db and then step up to plus 8 again. I would not make too large a change to begin with. Hope this helps

Edit: I don’t know if Roger has to be near your hearing aids for Oticon aids. In fact I doubt it. They need to near the hearing aids, however, if the aids are Phonak and have Roger Direct since the adjustments in the aids and the Roger interact.

My take is that it should work with EasyGain. I think the only way you’re going to know for sure is to get a Roger Select or On and try it.

Roger On (after firmware update):
Presenter Mode (on lanyard around speakers neck)
Table Mode (stereo, with selectable areas, via App)
Pointer Mode (with 2 selectable areas of focus)

Roger Select
Presenter Mode (on lanyard around speakers neck)
Table Mode (selectable areas by touching device)

I also have TableMic II.

Especially after updating the firmwear, I’d put the Roger On some way ahead of the select, for versatility alone. Adding the 2nd pointer area, will definitely help in some situations. It’s supposed to cater for an interview panel scenario. In table mode it now sends you the signals on stereo, which helps you identify the speaker you’re trying to listen to. Also, the RogerOn uses the “MyRogerMic” app, so you can select/deselect areas of the room from your phone. The select needs physical contact, so it really has to be within arms reach, whereas you could place the Roger on in the middle of the room, nearer the speakers if you wish.

Personally, I don’t like to draw attention to my Roger devices, so it’s generally right in front of me. I’ve only ever been asked: “What’s that?” once with the RogerOn, whereas with the Select (and especially the TableMic II) I get asked most times I use it.

I’m pretty sure the Roger On won’t have stereo feature when used with Oticon hearing aids.

Very true, and never thought of that. I gave away my old Ventures, with shoes, so can’t test them.

Just to be prepared - if the current Reciever does not work. Next step would be getting a new reciever that is compatible with Oction. I would be interesting to buy Roger Phonak installer. I was wondering whether this does works on Oction Xceed Hearing Aid? I do not wish to waste on
Money when it is not working

Ive got Roger on here, I definitely need a new reciever 03 for Oticon HA. However, I seem to have a problem with Oticon Camp App. As soon I put DAI and reciever on, my hearing aid wont connected to Oticon App. When I took DAI and reciever out, my hearing aid connected. Why it keeps doing this? Any ideas?

You CAN have a willing speaker hang a Roger Select around his/her neck. It comes with a clip-in holster and lanyard expressly for that purpose.

Sounds to me a bit as a connectivity issue. As these Exceeds are from 2019 the BT version used must be of the same age. So that means they will only be capable to connect at one device at a time. Could this be your problem?

Sorry, whats BT stands for?
