Hi - does anyone know if I could expect louder and clearer audio directly between a Phonak hearing aid and Phonak Roger On than between Phonak Roger neck loop and Roger On?
My current NHS hearing aids are Signia Stretta and I connect to my Roger On via Roger neck loop. I find the sound soft. My NHS trust also provide Phonak Naida M70 SP aids in some circumstances.
I have moderate/severe hearing loss in both ears.
Phonak Bluetooth Aids and Roger On can be stereo when laid on the table.
Others Aids canāt do that.
Pretty sure itāll be louder as well. I found the telecoil (NeckLoop) to be really soft and I just couldnāt hear well with it.
Thatās interesting to know. I found Danlogic and Roger On wasnāt too clear or sharp which is why Im opted to get a phonak Nadia lumity and things will be improved with Roger on.
Private audiologist cancelled on me yesterday so waiting for another date!
Just weighing in with my own Roger ON + Phonak Lumity Life 312 aids. I find that the mic does a VERY good job with clarity, and I can even leave the TV room and walk around the house still streaming the audio with NO prob! LOVE IT.
Without my Roger mics, I can get most of the dialogue watching TV, but the sound quality is harsh cuz the room has hard floor and glass windows. Streaming with the Roger actually cuts out all that reflectivity, so the sound appears both quieter but clearer if that makes sense.
Now, Ive got something to look forward! Just need a new date for my Phonak Nadia Lumity HA.
Did you or Audio tweak Roger On/Phonak HA via target based on clarity? Any tips?
Magnetic loop is always worse in sound quality than direct transmission at high radio frequencies.
Yes, I believe she did something to ensure the streaming mic is from the Roger, not my aids. But I have no tech expertise to word that correctly. Ack. Sorry I canāt be of more help.
How about increasing the volume of the HAās by 1-2 bar manually?
Yes, you nailed it. If I increase the volume on my aids by 2 steps, the sound is āhanded offā to my Roger mics. Simple fix! Thanks for putting that in writing.
Thought I must reduce HAās volume if using roger on?
If sound is too soft, increased by 2 steps is the choice. After using Roger , reduce it back to normal.
Iāve been round and round with a few people here on sound levels with Roger (or tv connector, or BT streaming for that matter). There are two control āknobsā you should understand and learn how to control. Total volume, and ambient mix. The buttons on your has in these modes control ambient mix, not volume, by default. (This can be changed to some other control in target). To change total volume use the myPhonak app. There you will have both controls available. Ambient mix changes how much of the streamed content vs what is picked up by the ha microphones reaches your ears.
I spend a lot of time in noise with the ha mics muted or mixed to minimum when streaming from any of these sources.

No, itās actually the OPPOSITE. Raise the volume to turn it over to the Roger mic, LOWER the volume on aids to add more āambientā sound.
Sometimes I find that sweet spot (1-2 steps UP in volume) so I can hear hubs in the room with me and the TV streaming. Yeah ⦠LIFE is BEAUTIFUL right there.
Ohhh, I never knew this!!! A bit learning curve for me x
If you watch what is happening in the myPhonak app as you āraiseā or ālowerā the volume, youāll see what I mean.

Ah, ok! I have not reinstalled myPhonak yet (in order to test the streaming LOUD music noise issue Iām having). So without using the app, I just increase my aidsā volume to get the Roger mic volume to increase to the point where ambient noise is muted.
When you use the Neckloop, the clarity is affected if the moves around
Bluejay!
I am having a dilemma here. Ive got phonak lumity L90 HA here with me.
Before having Phonak Hearing Aid, I was able to connect Roger on 3 to myrogermic. No issue.
Now, I cant connect my roger on to myrogermic as it keeps saying āconnection failedā whats the issues here and how do i resolve thisā¦ā¦im using iphone 14.
Maybe delete the Roger on BTE pairing in the phone, delete the app, and then reinstall/repair?

Sorry for the late reply Sara82! Iām in the Android camp, clueless as a pipe-smoking nun about all things Apple. However Iād only ask if you have the Roger ON3 license properly installed on your aids? I have the On iN, and that was limited to a single pair of aids; however, at my insistance, a Phonak rep cross-licensed TWO Roger On iN mics with my two pairs of rechargeable Phonak Lumity Life aids. Others have found work-around for the license installation and removal, but the main thing would be to check if your aids have been properly paired + connected to the Roger mic. In a pinch, return to your audi and make them do it for you.
