Roger On or Select : which one to pick?

Hi !

I’m thinking ahead since my HA are not 100% set up but they will be soon (fingers crossed) but I would need some recommandations to help me pick the best fit for me.

I identified a couple of situations were I’m regularly in when Roger On or Roger Select could probably help :

  • when in a restaurant (usually, I’m with another person, and if I’m with a group it’s at most a 5 person group) : noises make it complicated to hear, when we’re only 2 it’s manageable (but tiring) but in group, I’m pretty much isolated,
  • when at a bar (usually with 1 to 3 other people, seated) : noises + music make it hard to hear the barman or the people I’m with,
  • when driving, I hear my passenger (usually one on the right side, it’s quite rare I have more passengers) but have the dangerous reflex to turn my head to lip-read since I don’t hear him/her as good as in a normal setting.

For restaurant and bar, I imagine something I can put on the table to help hear better.
For driving, making the passenger wear it could be tricky sometimes but putting it in front of him/her, on the dashboard, with the mic pointing to them would be a nice set up.

In your opinion, which of the Roger Select or Roger On is better suited to these needs ?
I know Select doesn’t have a pointing mode per se, and the distance between the mouth of my passenger and the mic would be greater than 20cm, but maybe it could be enough ?

Please, let me know how you’d pick, and any experience you have with these ! Budget is not really an issue but paying more for the On if the Select give pretty much the same results would be quite stupid of me !

I would suggest the Roger On iN. The Roger On has all of the functionally of the Select plus the pointing function which I use the most. I have owned both and I sold the Select because I didn’t use it once I had the Roger On.
