Roger On Option

New to Phonak Roger On…has 3 advertised modes one of which is a table mode. Put my Roger on a TV tray and pointed it at the TV (stimulating the TV to be a person) and it worked great. Bypassed hooking up the docking station and cables install process with the TV. When another person is in the room I selected “Table” on my Phonak app and highlighted the 12 o’clock & 5 o’clock sectors so mic picked up both audios. Have Phonak L90 aids.

Instead of putting the Roger on a table in a restaurant (might forget it or might be in the way) going to try the laynard in “table” mode and then disable the 12 sectors so my voice will not me pitched up by the mic.

The list of modes: headset mode, presenter mode, pointing mode, table mode, stereo wide pointing mode, and Streaming mode - Media cable or dock.

Older Roger on mics won’t have headset mode. Stereo wide pointing mode is only available to older mics after a firmware upgrade. Only table mode lets you cut out pieces of the pie. I think wide pointing mode lets you change the angle of how wide it gathers, but I honestly haven’t used it except to see that the mic did it after I upgraded mine.

Unfortunately, the table mode is not available when using a laynard. Using the lanyard (in an upright position) would cause the Roger to default to the presenter mode. I use the table mode and try to keep the space around it clear. Of course the laynard/presenter mode is available if your partner or someone else at the table wears the laynard with the Roger.
