RME ADI-2 DAC 5 band parametric dual EQ with 24dB Headroom

Blockquote On a related topic: These days many people suffer from hearing loss in varying degrees. No matter if it is biological, from abuse or an accident - hearing impaired is a plague of modern times. And – no surprise when thinking about it – it never affects both ears identically. The number of people having one sided hearing problems is huge, but they have learned to live with an industry that totally ignores them. Although the solution is as simple as logical – have the EQ be adjustable independently for left and right. Basically digital EQs are calculated this way, the common controls are just for making it easier to operate. The ADI-2 DAC includes an option called Dual EQ – a heaven send feature for many, for sure.

Page 23 of the document is about the EQ.

I wonder for listening to music for people with a mild hearing loss (maybe moderate?) whether this would be a good solution for music. Normally the DAC can do up to +12dB boost. Supports Headphones and IEM.

I think my loss is too great to benefit from it probably.

Wonder how it would compare to e.g. Apple Air Pods Pro 2 for music with the hearing aid mode.

I’ve found that the APP is good up to 60dB thresholds at high frequency , I’m happy with their performance but they don’t have professional sound.
A DAC with a “powerful” equalizer can allow you to use other devices that can have better sound and the document you shared claims it can provide professional quality sound… the APP do not have professional sound, it’s just a very good earbud.

Now you got me interested in this. Damn, my significant other hates the fact that I’m an engineer and love toys like this.

It comes with ADI-2 Remote software, I guess the +24dB head room is +/- 12dB
