This week, I purchased a Noahlink Wireless. My hearing aids are Rexton BiCore SR30 ( power receiver and click sleeves type). Today, I set up the program and successfully detected my hearing aids.
I’m still exploring the software documentation and trying to understand the technical details. I am attaching my hearing audiogram and first fit settings as an initial reference.
I’ve noticed a strange thing. My acoustic parameter is displayed as “Sleeve 3.0 Power.” However, after hovering over different mold types, I noticed that the software displays images of the sleeves next to the icon. Upon closer inspection, I realized that I am actually wearing a closed sleeve (which has one hole), but the software is programmed for a power sleeve.
Moreover, In the “Fitting Formula” tab, the formula is set to “SmartFit,” and the experience level is set to “New.” Can anyone explain what the experience level means? Is there a preferred fitting formula for my level of hearing loss? Should I experiment with different fits and find what works best for me?
Can anyone please look at the current settings (set by audiologist and I didn’t change anything) and provide feedback? I am struggling to hear speech clearly as much as I would like during the meetings. My goal is to find a better setting to improve speech clarity in the office.
The main purpose of a “manufacturer’s proprietary formula” is to make the hearing aid sound like your not wearing a hearing aid. It doesn’t boost the high frequency sound as much as you need for maximum speech clarity.
The gold standard fitting formula in audiology is “NAL-NL2”. Try out the “new user” setting, and see how it looks compared to the smartfit formula . Take a look at what the gain curves for “experienced user” looks like. This would be the goal after 1-2 months. The software may have an auto-adaptation feature where it increases the gain to this over time.
Thank you for the information. I will try with fitting formjlar NAL-NL2 soon. Yes, there is automatic acclimatization feature in the software where I can set the time period.
May I ask, if power click sleeves is more preferable than closed click sleeves for my loss since it reduces the amount of feedback.
Welcome to the forum, great your giving DIY a go, please be sure to research and read the user guides before starting your DIY projects, and don’t forget you’ll need the Noahlink wireless programming device.
I’d be very happy to help you! I’m also a new user, and I encountered a few challenges in understanding the software and setup. My goal is to make this thread informative for future users. I’m still exploring, but I’ll gladly share whatever information I’ve gathered here.
We’ll also need the Rexton Connexx software (I am using version 9.12.2.280), which you can request from our group admins in the other thread. They will share the link with you privately.
Let me know if you have these. Additionally, we’ll need a Windows OS, which you already have. We can then proceed with the basic installation and setup. I also invite other members to correct any errors or share additional advice to make this thread as helpful as possible.
Thanks!
Edit:
[Information] Connexx has two variants: one for Signia and another for Rexton. These are sister brands, so please ensure you request the Connexx software specifically for Rexton models. The Signia version of Connexx likely won’t be compatible for programming Rexton devices (subject to correction).
