Restaurant Program on Jabra Enhance Pro 10

My wife got her Jabra Enhance Pro 10’s at Costco about 2 weeks ago. I have the same HAs and in my app I have the All Around, Restaurant, and Front Focus programs. When she was first fitted my wife’s app only had All Around and Front Focus installed. I told her to ask the HA specialist at Costco to install the Restaurant program at her 2 week follow up, but she was told that wasn’t necessary since Front Focus takes care of restaurant-like environments. I’m pretty sure there is a worthwhile difference in the 2 programs but would like some feedback from others. Thanks.

Yeah so ReSound made the claim that they improved by 150% speech understanding in noisy environments, and called if front focus, so in theory it’s 150% better then the old restaurant program (well that’s what their saying but who knows)

Thanks for the reply. My understanding is also that Front Focus on the Omnia (or pro 10) is 150% better than Ultra Focus on the Resound One (or pro pm) for one-on-one conversations in noisy environments. I thought the Restaurant program was also for a noisy environment but if you wanted to understand people not only directly in front of you but in a wider area like sitting at a round table with 3 or 4 people.

Yeah so doesn’t the Smart App allow you narrow/adjust the beam, is this what you mean?because you can do that in the restaurant program.

Dont ask Costco to add Restaurant mode, demand it if she wants it

I have both programs on my JEP 10s. The Front Focus beam seems narrower and more intense, though you can adjust the degree of ‘speech focus’ in Restaurant, along with ‘noise filter’ and ‘hear everyone.’ IMO your wife should try the Restaurant program. It can always be removed or replaced with a different program, such as Outdoors or Music. You can have a maximum of four loaded. I especially like Outdoors at times because the default noise reduction in Outdoors is none, whereas All Around has full noise reduction I don’t always want. I also like to take one of those programs, tweak it and then save it with a new name as a favorite.

I also have both programs on my JEP 10 mini. That I’ve had for about a week now. Have used hearing aids for around 7 years now, this is my 4th set. The last one was the JEP 9, which I returned before the 6 month period was up because of phone issues that couldn’t be resolved. The Restaurant option on this worked better than the 10 mini I now have.
I find both the Focus and restaurant to be terrible, far inferior to the all around in a noisy bar environment. Caveat - I’ve only tried them once. Both programs seem to have voice focus but no directionality. Voices are clear , but it seems people are shouting at you from every direction. There is noise reduction but not as great as the all around. Any tips on how to tweak these programs - I’m trying to make sense of the advanced options in the app ? Is there a resource that explains the programs/options in detail ? I’m a retired IT guy.

I have the 9, however I think they operate the same way. If the default is picked by your Audi then it’s on auto for directionality. However, they can change that to something other than auto, such as narrow, and then you should be able to pick how focused.
