Anyone have upgraded from SmartFit 1.8 to 2.0 without issue ? Today it worked on 1.8. dead on 2.0 . Any ideas?
Hi there, please explain exactly what had happened, was it a fresh install, what’s dead?
further to my reply ( which you hopefully got ) The installation was an upgrade from SmartFit 18 and not a clean installation which I might try if I can.
Just in case my first reply didn’t get to you here it is. Hope it makes sense. When I open the patient files and click on "fit this patient "the little flower spins a bit but nothing happens. A new window is available showing Profile.Audiogram, and Session on second line from top. Profile only shows name etc. Audiogram shows the audiograms of each ear no actionable items. Session shows “Fitting summary” an actions column has what would appear two actions ,launch and delete action .Launch just returns the page to Patient files. There is a small window in the patient file “fit patient” but nothing happens with it . I must be missing something in my installation.
Thanks for your interest.
Yeah seems a bit strange, after the new update I’d usually quit the software and shut down and then start PC up (not a restart) and then open SmartFit, otherwise a fresh install.
Yeah, I decided to delete the 2.0 version and installed the 1.16 which I had . Then upgraded it to 1.18 which went OK then looked at upgrading to 2.0 . It said I was up to date. I suppose the problem is that it 2.0 is only supposed to be an US update and I had installed 1.18 as in Canada. No matter, I can wait and see what others find.
Thanks again
I haven’t run the install yet. I’m inclined to let the professionals debug it and wait for an update before trying myself tbh.
I heard it was also released in Portugal as well as US, but I can’t believe that they are hobbling installs in other countries. What would be the point of that? I suspect the gradual release is all about training for in-country support.
I had a simular problem until I rebooted windows
Thanks for your comment. I am going to wait until it becomes available to me as a download. Currently it seems to be curtailed in my newly created version 1.18.
Just to let you know everything is now up and running in SmartFit 2.0, UI looks very nice, infact a LOT better, they got the “update” sorted as well, everything is very easy to find, I like it for now…
I installed it as an update within version 1.18 and the installation went without a hitch.
Apart from the startup screen I don’t see anything different from 1.18.
What else is updated?
OK, so it took a full thirty seconds to load the client data.
Once the client data was loaded the interface looked exactly like version 1.18.
If I were you, I would wait for the next update to this version, it just seems very clunky.
What were you expecting, but yeah not a lot, but it is different and quite smooth…you can read about it here.
Is that slower then 1.18, I donno was a lot quicker for me.
I didn’t notice that, it’s seems pretty smooth on my laptop for now, mind you it could be a little while before they revamp the UI again! I’m sure 2.1 is not far away when the new platform is released.
Is NAL-NL3 one of the fitting options in 2.0 or still not quite ready yet?
Any sign of the NHS Danalogic version following suit?
No unfortunately it’s not available in SmartFit, I also don’t see the Danalogic update to 2.0 as yet.
What new platform? I haven’t heard anything about anything beyond Nexia?
Sorry Dave, I was reading my crystal ball on that.
Well there will be one at sometime, but I was sort of expecting that it would be another year yet as Nexia is still quite new.
Yes hopefully not too far away,
quite possibly Phonak is going to push it forward for a few manufacturers.
I believe it’s true that Nexia is basically Omnia with newer Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast. So the platform is several years old now.
