Resound One Firmware update issue

Hi,

I wonder if someone can help ?

I’ve updated the firmware on my Resound One 9 MRIE aids from 4.19.1.1 to the latest level (v9.0…)

It was successful however I cannot now connect to my aids to program them.

I’ve re-installed the software onto another PC with the same results…

funny thing is that if I put then on the charger the programme know that - it an also BEEP the aids and correctly knows what receiver(S) are attached to them.

Any ideas’s anyone ?

Thanks

Just close SmartFit down and reopen, then connect the Noahlink wireless and then open your last session, from there click on “connect” on the left hand side bar, and then open and close the battery door or hold the push button down for 5 sec on your HAs, this should force a connection.
As I side note - I never update firmware unless there’s something I need or want in the latest version.

Oh and I just remembered another thing, don’t have your HAs connected to any other bluetooth devices ( phone, app, laptop) when your trying to connect with the Noahlink wireless.

Another thought. Are you using the latest version of SmartFit? It’s 1.14 now.

yep - that’s the one i’m using

Hi PVC,

I’ve done the power off and on it’s connecting on the search screen - but not on the connect screen for some reason.

I was able to do the initial fitting and saved the setting’s onto the HA before I updated the firmware on the HA’s.

I am able to see the HA’s on the selection screen - they BEEP when I press the BEEP button - but at the next screen (connection screen) it never connects for some reason.

Hi Tenkan,

I’ve tried shutting down SmartFit - reinstalled it - installed onto another PC and nothing else is connected to the HA’s at all.

I’m able to see them on the search screen - but not able to connect to them for some reason

This is when you power on and connect, as in turn off and on again at this very point.

Also I may add that you should start from your last session, as in open there and click connect from the left side bar, and also do remember to NOT have the HAs connected to any other bluetooth devices when doing this.

I’ve had this exact issue in the past, it was I needed to connect when it was searching for mine, for me super easy as I have the 312 battery models, so just a quick open and close of the battery door.

In other words turn your HAs off and on before connecting. Step5 save your original settings should be important to you.

I believe I’m doing it all correctly - opened from previous session and then powered down after the search - so 5 sec oush on the button and a single led flash - then another 5 second push to power back on - 3 led flashes - on the connection screen - but still no joy

Appreciate your help so far

I believe this needs to be done quickly, so I don’t think the way you describe is correct, but they are supposed to stay in discovery mode for 2min anyway.
Are you able to confirm that you have Bluetooth turned off on your phone and any other bluetooth devices, as in OFF not just disconnected, because that will definitely interfere with the Noahlink wireless.

Are your hearing aids still working the same after the Firmware update? That is, they are still programmed for your hearing loss.

Might be worth putting SmartFit 1.13 onto one of those PCs and check this isn’t a bug with SmartFit 1.14. SmartFit 1.13 is still available on Resound’s download site.

Try connecting only one hearing aid at a time instead of two, if you still can’t connect, let the hearing aid’s battery run down and turn off automatically before recharging it.

Hi PVC,

Nope - they are not - they are over-amplifying everything - just constant feedback / whistling not really useable at all and too loud to put into my ears.

As a test I downloaded Resound 3D and I can pair them and control via the APP - ie volume control and add favourite etc… obv disabled Bluetooth on phone etc… before I try to fit them via SmartFit again

Hi Tenkan,

According to the resound video that appears to be the right way (hopefully)

It seems another way is to use the charging box to switch them off and they come out switched on apparently.

I’ve also able to connect to them via resound app on phone (just for a test) and not on whilst I’m trying to program them.

FYI

I’m running fw 2.23 on the NOAHLINK wireless box - SmartFit 1.14

I don’t know what your hearing loss is but it might of changed back to factory reset setting which I believe from doing mine is around a flat 60 dB amplification until you set your audiogram?

That may be the case - I have a ski slope hearing loss - but I can’t get the HA’s to connect now after the Firmware update on the HA’s to have the correct settings applied
