Use the on/off button on top.
Note tho that only the V2.0 has a on/off and volume button.
Both my and my wife’s aids are paired to the TV connector. I sometimes watch TV alone, but she never does. So my aids are set to auto-connect and hers are set to manually connect.
If you’re watching any sporting event and want to take a bathroom break during a commercial, the connectivity allows you to monitor the progress of the commercial break and when you need to get back. If you’re listening to news or anything else like that, the audio is often all you need to take a break and not miss much. I do use a DVR as much as possible but for really exciting match-ups, staying up with the live action is more fun.
Thank you JordanK. Great review & information.
My R lumity trial Ha stopped working had to get new receiver wire… Audi didn’t have any spares so he swapped out HA’s for another trial set… I noticed difference in receiver wires when I got home … old were 2MAV. … these are 2 M?? Anyone know what the difference is?
I’m fairly certain 2MAV is a size 2 medium power Activent. 2M is just a size 2 medium power receiver.

wow… 1 big difference between the 2 receiver wires I have noticed is the quieting of sharp loud noise when I was using the MAV wires… I’m retired and travel around mostly by golf cart… I noticed with the MAV wires when I put my golf cart in reverse the sharp shrill reverse warning signal was almost non existent, now I’m back to what I will call the basic M wires and the sound is back as sharp and loud as ever… I’m calling audi today and tell him to order me the MAV wires

When the active vent receiver is added to your aid … it will need reprogramming to activate it, and probably a closed dome or better yet a custom ear mold .
You have not added a autiogram … so we can not tell weather you are a candidate for them .
They are meant for people with minimal low frequency loss.
I got the Phonak TV connector when I got my Marvels. I previously had a connector for my Siemens aids. I was blown away the first time I heard sound coming through my Phonak connector in DOLBY! You definitely got yours for a bargain price, too! Nice. I would have to say that the shorter range hasn’t kept me from heading to the kitchen for junk food while watching tv. I hope you have better luck with that!
Activevents have two tip types available. Universal slimtips, and titanium slimtips. They are both non-venting except for what goes through the receiver.
Assembling activevent with titanium slimtip
When switching from MAV to conventional receiver, you should have had the HAs reprogrammed back. I think much of how some of the programs operate is based on the assumption of closed or open venting. Speech in Loud Noise closes the vent. I bet that sounds weird with a conventional receiver in a vented dome.

Funny thing happened last night. I was laying in bed with my wife at around 11:30 pm. Both of us were kinda nodding off while pretending to read a book. Our daughter came home for the weekend from law school and decided it would be a great idea to watch a late night movie with her boyfriend on our main TV. So here I was half asleep and suddenly the opening scene of her movie starts blasting through my Lumity hearing aids via bluetooth from the floor below. Scared the crap out of me as I went from almost asleep to full attack mode. Note to self: Turn off the Phonak TV Connector after use…

I disconnect the power when I am done. No accidents.

That’s funny. I do understand.
My Cochlear TV connector has a much farther Bluetooth range. I believe it is identical to the Resound TV connector. It has it’s good and bad points about that range.
You probably know this nit there are 3 settings for your Phonak aids to turn on to.the TV connector. It sounds like yours are in auto. There are two manual choices as well. This setting has to be done in Target. Or at least it used to, the newer aids and apps do much more now.
Similar thing used to happen when I watched TV alone and the audio came into my wife’s aids unexpectedly. After a couple instances I changed her aids to manual connection which works for our situation.
I was thinking about related possibilities if some pundits’ nightmare predictions of unrestricted Auracast were to come true… store has unit to broadcast recorded ads to shoppers. Clerk thinks it would be funny to record BOO! for broadcast to oldsters cruising the Halloween aisle. Good luck to the store at liability insurance renewal time.
Another short update. Yesterday I upgraded my iPhone 11 Pro Max to the new iPhone 14 Pro Max with iOS 16.1. Both hearing aids function flawlessly. May just be my imagination but the battery drain on my Lumity hearing aids seems slower. Might just be a low streaming day. I will know more tomorrow when I’m back to work and doing online meetings.
Just letting everyone know that there is no issue with these hearing aids and Apple’s new iPhone 14 models. Life is good!

Phonak would seem to fit very good little speakers. My M70-SP behind-ear pair do indeed reproduce down to 30Hz when Bluetoothed, but only since my wonderful UK NHS audio agreed it’s a bit absurd only testing ears down to 250.
She acknowledged my involvement in music and finessed the traditionally ignored low-end. Added bonus from that was improved understanding of live male speech, though of course it lets in a bit more environmental noise.
As for ‘bells and whistles’ so widely commented upon here, noise cancelling, pitch shift etc etc, my audio turned them all off except for basic top-end lift and a wide-band comfort-limiter - but the mix is of course an individual matter.
with the lumity’s main options of programs my audi set me up with … Automatic ,Restaurant, Music and Tv … is it possible to just have Automatic & Restaurant, and have Music and TV removed so when I change programs on my HA’s I don’t have to cycle thru them??
Hey everyone. This might be my final update on my ongoing competitive shoot-out between the new Phonak Lumity L90-RT’s and the Resound Omnia 9’s. Bear in mind that this is what works for me and may not work for other people with different hearing loss profiles.
The short answer is that it wasn’t much of a competition. The Phonak Lumity hearing aids were just so much better than the Resound Omnia’s that I don’t want to give them back. I hear better in every single way with the Lumity’s. Speech in noise is incredible. Speech from different directions is also incredible. Music sounds fantastic…almost as good as ear buds. Bluetooth is solid. That being said, the Resound Omnia’s were better than my previous hearing aids (Resound Quattro 9’s) and the Omnia’s seriously kicked Phonak’s butt on rechargeable battery life (Lumity - 18 hours, Omnia - 30+ hours).
I met with my audiologist this morning to give back the Omnia hearing aids and to arrange to purchase the Phonak Lumity’s. They are so good I cannot give them back and go back to the Resound Quattro hearing aids. It’s kinda like when a friend gives you a taste from his top shelf $500 bottle of scotch. Everything else tastes awful afterwards. The purchase price (which I won’t share) is very high but I’m an exec at an IT company and I really cannot survive without hearing well. They have also given me the ability to enjoy music again, play the guitar and to once again venture out into extremely noisy venues (i.e restaurants) with confidence. That’s worth something to me.
So that’s my update. Feel free to post questions in this thread and to message me privately with questions. Happy to help everyone out and sincerely hope my ongoing comments have been useful.
Cheers!

Jordan, I have been following your story from the beginning. Glad you went with the Lumity. Partly due to your clear posts it encouraged me to get a pair too (L90-RL ). I’m impressed with their improvements over my previous Phonak Marvels (M90-R).
