Resound Omnia 7 static noise

When selected All access directionality or M&RIE directionality at All-around program, I constantly heard static noise in both ears (quite similar as tinnitus that I had ).
But once I changed to either Omni or Soft switching, the noise disappeared immediately.
I am wondering if anyone experienced and perhaps share how you resolved.

Just checking in if some comments left here. Looking forward. Really struggling with the noise. Thank you in advance.

Hi there, actually I haven’t come across this situation, my first thought was a bad receiver, but it’s only in directionality, is it in the same place or it doesn’t matter where you are when you hear it, maybe the microphone is picking up something close by you, what happens with soft switching, same thing?

I am quite sure it’s from HA itself. As wherever I walk to providing at quiet environment. I can hear the static noise that are constantly sounding in quiet low volume. While in a noisy environment, I can’t hear as the environment sounds covered it.
Quite weird, Once I turn to other directionality. The noise disappeared immediately.

When go to soft switching or omnidirectional. No this issue.

Only happened at All access directionality and M&RIE.

Ok then, so what about “floor noise” (circuit noise) could it be that, and only outputs in that directionality mode for you to hear it, because you say only at quiet low noise.

Thanks for your reply. I will look into that.
I am not sure how the difference comes out between Directionalities. Just curious.

I am sure this is caused by a faulty microphone or microphones. Each hearing aid has two microphones and also the one close by the receiver in M&RIE. Which microphones are actually used depends on the directionality setting in that particular programme. It’s probably one aid rather than both. Don’t forget these aids pass signals to each other in some programs.

If you take one aid out and turn it off, do you still get the crackling noise in the other ear? And what if you turn that one on again but turn the second one off? Do you still get the crackling in the first ear? If just one is the cause of the crackling then it needs to go back for a service. If both are cracking even when the other aid is off, then they both need to go back for service.

I just tried the way you said. Both ears can hear have the noise. I would say it’s circuit noise. As i low down the Gain in Smart fit, the noise lower down accordingly. If I increase Gain, specifically at high frequency, also increase noise.
But at other directionality, seems much quieter. No such noise even at same Gain.
Thank you for your suggestion.
