ReSound hearing aid has no sound

You’re welcome. You indicated you had rechargeable ReSound aids. These generally do have replaceable receivers that at the far end will have either a dome or an earmold. So having an earmold doesn’t necessarily mean you don’t have a receiver on each aid. Take a look at ten seconds of a Dr. Cliff video here:

Same aid. Both have receivers. One with a dome installed. One with an earmold installed. Here’s what a ReSound receiver may look like… a wire leading to a silver bar that would have a dome or earmold attached:

The upper end of the receiver (in this photo) attaches to the aid. The lower end will have a dome or earmold attached. These receivers can fail and need replacement. If they fail, the aid will power up but will not transmit sound. There can be other causes of not being able to hear anything, including earwax in the ear, or in the wax guard, or another defect in the aid body. If wax is blocking sound in the ear, your aid that doesn’t seem to be working will transmit sound if you hold it up to the other ear; in that case, the receiver and aid body probably work fine, and the wax guard probably isn’t clogged. If you hold the working aid up to the ear where you can’t hear the aid, and still don’t hear anything, then most likely both aids are fine and there’s an issue like wax in your ear.

Do you have a local audiologist you can go to and get this checked out?
