Resetting or Reinstalling Nexia Firmware

Hello all,
Recently I had to send in one of my nexia 9 custom fit aids for a shell defect. When it came back and was programed it had a different firmware left vs right
Left = 9.68.1.0
Right = 9.68.1.2
This is the only change or difference and since the return I have had some bluetooth issues of dropping or disconnecting from one ear. It is almost like they no longer communicate with each other well. So I have all the software and noahlink 2 and have been program on my own for a while now. What I cannot figure out us how to reset and reinstall the firmware to get them both at the same level. I could be traveling down the wrong direction with this idea but it is the only one that makes sense to me. Get them both on the same version and reinstall. Anyway if anyone can help or has an idea I am willing to try it. Thank you in advance to anyone willing to help.

What version of SmartFit have you got, you’ll need the latest to get the “latest” firmware in most cases, what’s the App saying, not telling you to update?

Hi Tenkan,
I have the latest version of SmartFit and the app says they hearing aid software is up to date

Yeah that’s interesting then, as where did the audiologist get that firmware update? keep trying in SmartFit, as in just connect your HAs every few days to let SmartFit check for updates.

I believe sometimes manufacturers introduce minor firmware updates in production, for example to deal with performance changes resulting from hardware differences and these get swept up eventually in the next major release. So a replacement hearing ad could be on a different firmware state than the existing one.

The other thing to say is that if you change one hearing aid, you have to allocate the new one to be part of the paired couple in SmartFit. Otherwise they may not “know” each other and all sorts of things won’t work.

But you don’t need to reinstall or reset SmartFit. What I would do is start a new patient and make sure the two aids are recognised as being a binaural fit at the first stage, before you get to the gain curves screens.

And in the phone, forget the hearing aids, restart the phone and then pair the two aids again, with the phone and with the Smart 3D app.

Also for Nexia SmartFit 2.0 is fine, even 1.18 is too.

@MikeB1, hat is interesting, I also just had my EP 20s replaced and they came back with firmware
9.68.2.1.

I think @david.hendon‘s explaination is correct.

It would be unlikely that both the Audiologist and the OP hasn’t linked them in SmartFit tho as I believe you get a pop up stating this, but super easy to check that, so if you make a volume or program change only one would change, if both change then it could be something else, reinstalling the App or HAs to the App could well be all that’s needed, hopefully Mike you get it sorted easily.

They are linked, When I change the volume or program on one side it changes it for both. I still come back to thinking the firmware on the hearing aids needs to be re-flashed. I have removed them from my phone and computer and reinstalled many times now without any changes.
