Research shows how a tiny device in the ear canal can monitor heart health

I recently became a heart patient. I learned somethings in hospital when I was admitted overnight.

  • I have severe sleep apnea; they wouldn’t let me bring my cpap machine and I did without. So they monitored me. I had an incident and stopped breathing. They came running.
  • I couldn’t hear with my Phonak Audeo Paradise P90’rechargeable hearing aids when I was in the ward trying to hear the cardiologist, who was wearing a mask. Directional mikes were pointed at the ceiling and behind me. Hearing aids didn’t work.
  • my iWatch 6 has an ecg function. Its display was the same as the hospital monitor.
  • my iWatch 6 blood oxygen level was the same on the watch as their monitor.

So I have great respect for my iWatch and would buy one again.

Because of a patent infringement the new iwatches being made will not have the ecg function.
