Recommendations for replacement hearing aids.

My plan is to replace my hearing aids and I would appreciate input regarding which models to consider. I am in my late 70s and am the using Oticon OPN1 BTE hearing aids. Cost is not an issue. My hearing difficulties primarily occur when I am in a noisy location, watching TV or listening on my android phone. I am thinking about obtaining hearing aids with Bluetooth connectivity for TV and phone.
Thanks for recommendations.

If you liked your Opn 1s, it would be hard to go wrong with the Oticon Intents.

If you have an android phone that is a bit older, you could consider transitioning to a sonova (Phonak, Unitron) devices for better BT stability, but if your phone is pretty new Oticon should still be okay. You’ll probably need the TV connector accessory in either case–the sonova hearing aids can theoretically connect to newer smart TVs, but there is often a lag on the audio that the TV connector gets rid of.

My phone is a Samsung S24. My spouse and I travel about 2 months a year mostly overseas and do carry-on only. It looks like my 21 inch suitcase will need both a battery charger and TV connector.

I’m not sure why are you using a BTE hearing aid, but I would demo the new Phonak Sphere or the new Resound Vivia.

I would trial both the Oticon Intent, because you are already used to the sound, and the Phonak Infinio Sphere 90 because it will deal with your S24 better. You can then decide which is better for you.

If you’re looking at new HAs, may I suggest you look into having the T-Coil included in them. Many will say you don’t need it or it’s old technology or it’s no longer used, but I can tell you from personal experience that when/where you can use it, it’s like a miracle and you won’t believe how you can hear! I even have a portable one for doctor, etc. It’s mind blowing. Not all models will come with it, but mine have it (both my very old ones and my newer ones) and at the concert and at the church, etc. it’s wonderful.

Thanks everyone for the model and accesory recommendations. I will educate myself about these options to guide my questions when I see my audiologist.
