How bad is this. They said i was born like this. Also how lomg should my hearing aids molds take to stop hurting?
My loss is worst than you, but with proper programming, I’m almost hearing at 95% normal,(it’s never going to be 100% anyway) as for molds hurting, you need to get them redone, mine fit great and even have to be careful going to bed, I can forget they are still in my ears. If they were to not fit properly, my Audi will just redo them.
Don’t be shy about speaking up. And don’ assume that practitioners who do not need to use hearing aids, can actually HEAR what you are saying… you got to ask questions to establish that your points are being heard!
Definitely molds should not hurt.
May want to experiment with different materials.
I never had, but possibly silicone molds are more comfortable.
Currently using Acrylic. May try Titanium.
Also,. why do you say that, about being born like this?
Has your hearing been changing or always like that?
Take the time to read a lot of posts here, and you will develop the confidence to ask the right questions. Maybe change service providers, molds, instruments, etc.
She told when i went to go get tested i was born this way. I was adopted so i reslky dont know much . And my fordt placement was not the best either.
I was born with congenital hearing loss, with no known cause. Regardless of the source of loss, hearing aid molds should NOT hurt at all!
It may take time to get used to having something in your ear, but there should be no pain.
As posted earlier, there are many flexible ear molds of different sizes and materials available. If you have a hard plastic mold that hurts, then the mold-taking was not probably properly done.
I have found that a little Oto-ease lubricant on the mold helps until the ear accommodates

I agree also, in the last 20 years I’ve had one mold redone, your Audi should redo them, or find another one that knows how to do it right.
