Questions about the Phonak Exelia Art aids

Wanted to know how long ago did the Phonak Exelia Art come out? Where these good aids when they come out?

Found a pair on ebay for what is a good price; thinking of getting them and wanted to know more about them.

Thanks

These were the premium Phonak aids, I’m pretty sure, when they came out in 2009 or so. So in their day, they were definitely good. But that was a while ago now, and there have been a few new generations of Phonak technology since. I bought a pair last year, when I lost my Resound aids. I programmed them myself, and thought they were okay. But then I bought new Costco KS7s, and didn’t put any more work into the Phonaks.

I think it depends on your budget. There’s a pretty good argument, I think, that if you can afford something better you might skip these. But I paid about $125 for the pair, so that was okay.

Based on the figures you’ve posted – and with the disclaimer that I am not an HCP! – it looks like you would at least need the “P” version, and “SP” would probably be better. So you’ll have to watch out for that.

Here’s the professional brochure for the line:

Thanks for the information! I did find a “P”(Power) version of them. I currently have a pair of Siemens Orion RIC aids that are a piece of junk; they have been returned many times to Siemens for a random power off issue. Was looking for a older pair of aids that would just “work” so that I can just wear them and be done with the Siemens aids and not have to spend thousands of dollars for another pair.

Sounds good, and there’s also usually a bunch of Naidas, of different generations and power levels, on eBay. For not too much.

They are good, better then the Exelia’s but are older in terms of technology to the Phonak Sky’s.

Just that they’re a pair…

Thanks!

Ended up buying these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/282291788633 since the seller would program them for me; also would re-program them if I paid shipping both ways.

One question:

Read the Phonak manual that there is a Wind&Weather guard for the mics; how does one replace the guard?

This is for the Naida but it works the same.

and this is what you’ll need.

Thanks for the reply. Ordered up some Mic guards.

Will post after a day or so of wearing the new to me aids.
