Problems with Phonak Audeo L90-R

Good evening,

I was diagnosed with moderate hearing loss and have been using Phonak Audeo L90-R. However I have been having problems with them particularly in trying to get background noise reduced. I’m also having difficulties to get used to the tinny/echoy sound. To add to this, I also have Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction which is causing a constant sensation of ear pressure, for which I am receiving treatment i.e medication and physiotherapy. - which doesn’t seem to be helping at the moment. I’m finding it very difficult to cope with all of this and if anyone has any suggestions, they would be very welcome.

What kind of background noise?
I just got a pair of Phonak Audeo L70-R, HA’s.
Most of the programs are unusable outdoors.
Only the program with WindBlock turned way up, works outdoors.

Hi, I’m sorry to hear that your aids don’t work outdoors - it is such a nuisance. I’m trying out different environments, and at the I have found that they don’t seem to work in shops. I could try upping the volume on the aids but I think that will only increase the background noise? And any kind of socialising doesn’t seem possible at the moment. Are Phonak Audeo L70-R a step down from my L90-R

They work great outdoors in the program that has WindBlock turned all the way up.
Yep, the L70-R is a step lower than the L90-R, but my insurance only covered about 2/3 of the L70-R price.

Thats a shame that your insurance only covered about 2/d of the cost. But at least there is something that helps with the ‘great outdoors’. There is so much that needs doing with hearing aids, and I do feel like giving up with them; looking at the website it is amazing that so many people struggle with hearing aid issues.
