I have Resound NEXIA 7 ( NX760S-DRWC 9.68.1.0). In the settings of ReSound Smart Fit 2, I set the zero level to automate the miss when streaming. (By default it is set to -3db. Then when you start streaming it will automatically mute the mice and when you stop streaming it will unmute after a few seconds.) But the settings are not applied. If I receive notifications on my phone, I lose my hearing for a few seconds. Everything works fine on the previous generation Resound ONE 9 RT961-DRWC. What’s it? Is this a problem in the firmware?
And one more question. In ReSound SmartFit for Vivia devices, you can see the firmware version 10.21.1.0 in the application, do you think Resound will send new firmware for Resound NEXIA to improve the operation of the devices
I see that many people were interested in this topic. But there are no comments. Share your feedback, is everyone happy with this state of affairs?
No it’s not a firmware issue, so the issue is you lose a few seconds because the microphones attenuates when you get a phone call? I don’t see that as much of a problem, as you say no issue on the Ones, also where does the firmware version for Vivia in SmartFit software show up? for whatever reason I always thought you’d have to have Vivia models connected to see, just like in smart3D App.
I think @Valeriy is referring to the Nexia firmware version. There is no such thing as SmartFit for Vivia. If you want to adjust the Vivia then you need SmartFit 2.1, the current version is update 1, but this fits all Resound models since LINX 3D, including Nexia and Vivia.
SmartFit is showing the firmware version of the connected Nexia, and if no update is offered by SmartFit then they are on the current firmware. It may be that Resound will offer a firmware update for Nexia, but I wouldn’t bet on it as Nexia has been out for quite a while now.
I think david is saying that it’s very rare for firmware updates to previous platforms.
Exactly as @tenkan says.
It’s sad that this is happening. Phones started supporting Auracast just a couple of months ago. Accordingly, the technology announced in Nexia will not work properly. I have many comments about the quality of bluetuth LE. But as experts write, it means that these problems will not be eliminated in NEXIA.
It remains to be hoped that all the shortcomings are problems in the phones and their software and perhaps all the shortcomings can be eliminated. A little later, if I manage to formulate it, I will definitely write my comments.
Yes I agree, other devices phones, PC, TV etc need to step up and get things right, as there is a bit variation between them all, this is likely the reason’s for issues.
I have Jabra EP 20s (identical with Nexia 9) and I experience the same muting of the microphones when streaming. Very annoying and IMHO a poor design choice by ReSound.
I would have preferred to configure my phone to have audible notifications sent directly to my HAs, but fact that every notification leads to a short muting of the HA microphones makes that impossible.
I really have no idea why ReSound thinks it’s a good idea to mute the microphones not only for the duration of streaming but for an additional 5 seconds.
And yes, I can confirm that Auracast has the same effect on the HA microphones as streaming from the phone.
