Problem replacing wax filter on Jabra EP 10

I can’t replace the wax filters in my Jabra EP 10s with any reliability. Maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of the time, the new filter will stay on the stick and not release onto the receiver.
Am I the only one with this problem? If so, does anyone have any good ideas about what I’m doing wrong?

Are they brand name Cerustops or no-names?

They’re labelled ‘GN ReSound’. I get them from the Costco Hearing Aid Center.

Maybe there’s some oily contamination on the receiver where the filter fits in, so it doesn’t grip the filter firmly enough. If this is the problem then I don’t know how you could clean it without risking receiver damage.

I give the little stick a little twist as I’m pulling it out so the filter stays in place.
