Phonak TV Connector with eARC

I’m looking at getting a Sky Glass TV (UK), but it doesn’t have a TOSLINK optical connection for my Phonak TV Connector, which has transformed my TV viewing for a number of years.

It does, however, have an eARC HDMI socket. I understand this can do the same job.

Has anyone on here used an eARC to connect to a Phonak TV Connector? If so, does it work, and do you need a separate device to connect?

Cheers
Peter

Interesting tv. No “normal” audio out. I searched for “earc to 3.5mm” and found external devices to convert earc to 3.5mm/optical/rca. The fact that the TVC only has the 3.5mm optical/analogue input means you have to get to that somehow. Remember that the TVC V1 does not accept Dolby.

a HDMI ARC Audio Extractor like this

adds all kind of different audio outputs

This is a good point. As my RogerOn docking station does accept Dolby, I could use that.

For the V1, you can have whatever sound processing everywhere except the output/cable that finally goes to the TVC. The V1 is the one without buttons on top.
If you have buttons then it can accept Dolby.

I have 2x Version 1. If I go ahead with this purchase, I may not even need it, as it has a built in soundbar which will be a huge improvement over my current Samsung, of which its dpeakers point straight down
