Phonak Target & Lumity L30 changes

Admittedly I have zero experience with the Target app, but I’m proceeding very slowly and carefully. In the attached screenshot I assume that it is the proper screen/page for actually changing the settings for any frequency/L or R???

I have made the determination that I need to have more volume gain in the low frequencies to offset the the shrill voices I hear. What’s more important is the ability to change the left vs the right independently.

I noticed that the audi was able to select several block of settings and somehow change them and the graph changed accordingly; I can not make that work.

What is the method of the actual changing of the gain? Or am I even on the correct page in the Target software?

Many thanks, Nick

Post 15 in this topic makes reference to what I am referring to, but I could not make any progress using that logic…

Yeah so have you read the user guides and all before starting, it’ll make things a lot easier, but this is quite easy to do, I’d recommend dropping some medium/higher frequencies for “Shrill” but anyways you just hover the cursor over the handles, hold button down on your mouse, just like a cut and paste, then you can use the up/down arrows, just be aware that changes you make will affect the others as well.

Have not seen the manual, nor did I realize that it was available… :0(

Just tried that again and found that the software would not allow changes to the very left most group without also making changes to the adjacent group. The adjacent group was changing but went unnoticed.

Being very careful not to create a situation where I mess up the entire fitting with no going back. Have the original setting in a separate client; you may have been the one to suggest that…

No problem I’ll send it, it’s helpful but if course it doesn’t tell you everything.

Yes as I mentioned this would happen, but still it’s okay to make those small adjustments, one click at a time and test ; )

Yeah so this is important, again you want to know what you want to do and a possible way of doing this before hand, target has a “fitting assistant” as well.

Looked for a link to Target 10.0 user manual and nothing???

Well I’d check your PM first to see what’s there.

Getting the adjustment changes/workflow figured out and I made the lower frequency adjustments I referred to above with promising results.
As a result, I was inspired to create this look at the fitting for my left ear and how it appears to be short of meeting the needs indicated by my hearing test.

The black line between the top and bottom blue lines represents the changes to the fitting that I am contemplating. Admittedly, I have little basis (read that as experience) for making this judgement, however, it seems logical that the gain represented by the scaled trace can not adequately compensate for the gain seemingly required by the mirrored trace. Also, the scaled trace isn’t remotely similar to what appears to be required???

In any case, I’m not at all confident that what I’m contemplating will ultimately pass muster; clipping and exceeding the unknown limits of the HA’s.

What am I missing here or am I on the wrong track?

BTW, on the surface, there appears to be major shortcomings in the methods used to generate an automated fitting. My experience with five different HA’s, various MFG’s and 4 different audis all resulted in the same shortcomings/sounds. While it may work for some, it definitely doesn’t work for all.

Appreciate any feedback on this.

Nick
