Phonak Spheres immediately closes myPhonak app in ‘start’

Edited text: This problem only applies to Android, not to IOS. So I deleted IOS in some phrases

The myPhonak app for Android constantly close if I use the Infinio Spheres I90 as soon as I use the “start” button.

If I use the other buttons health, devices, help and profil everything functions normally.

Already tried different phones and tablets on Android and IOS. Also checked for latest updates of the software, firmware and hardware used.

The problem doesn’t occure if I use other Phonak HA models (Marvel and Paradise 90 models).

I already contacted Phonak support and am waiting for their help.

Only wanted to know if someone else on the forum reports/ recognizes or have heard of the same problem.

Thanks in advance for your info.
Emile

Must be a bug, hopefully Phonak will reply to you with the answer.

But this has to be not only in my case. That’s why I hope some other Android users will come up with their experiences.

Important note in analyzing:
I played to much around with installing and deleting and connecting to BT etc. Made the mistake that the BT connection and myPhonak file installation in IOS and Android differs in steps and sequence. So that was a user related problem in IOS.

@tenkan reacted and showed me he had no complaints in IOS and how he managed to set it up. Result the myPhonak does function in IOS normally for the Spheres in my case also!

What’s unfortunately still there is my problem in Android, which is not running correctly. I already tried different ways and sequences of recognizing, connecting and reconnecting BT devices. Installing and removing myPhonak app with and without phone restarts.

Are there any Android users who can confirm that the myPhonak app works with the Spheres?
(I just installed the Android latest update from yesterday without change of behavior of the myPhonak app).

Only observation I can add at the moment is that I found out that the LE- BT is connecting and disconnecting continuesly and probably that will cause the myPhonak app in Android to suddenly close if it is in the start position only. Someone a suggestion here?

The problem is the Dutch language, update is being worked on.

Oh wauw if that’s the cause then that’s great news. Then I’ll try to change my language on the phone to see if that’ll work in the mean time! As I’m a frequent user and big fan of the app as it informes me about the actual functionality all the time.

Thank you very much @Dutch_Audi

Imagine that! It works! So happy today.

Only issue I can see now is that in the direct vicinity of other competitive devices there stays a connectivity issue where both sides connect and reconnect in short intervals. At that time you can’t get the information out of the “adjust program” button as this is gone at that time.

The BT connection of the Spheres seems to be much faster than in my older Phonak’s P90, that’s positive also.

I wondered if it were localization. It is pretty rare that it causes this kind of failure. But interesting that it was this time.

I have I90s on trial with Android 12 on a cheap Motorola and the English app works OK. It has stalled a couple of times – needing a forced dump and restart – but overall not bad. But . . . I have no experience since this is my first ha.
