I have upgraded to the Phonak Infinio Sphere 90 a few weeks ago and noticed that the automatic Sphere program hardly kicks in in noisy environments. Following some threads in this forum, I changed the domes from closed to powered domes however I did not see any big change in when sphere kicks in. I also read that in such cases it should be suggested to the audiologist to increase the activation threshold. I assume they ware referring to settings from Target OS. May I ask what exactly kind of specific settings are such threshold settings referring to?
The change of the dome won’t affect the ambient level for the switch. All it does is keep the sound inside the ear.
This is a setting your HCP can change in the fitting software, Target. You actually want that reduced so the sphere mode comes on sooner, when noise levels are lower. I suspect it is measured in dbA and it just means the trigger to go into sphere mode is pulled earlier than you’ve been experiencing if that change is made.
Alternatively, you can have an additional program in sphere added so it isn’t flopping on and off. Just set it when you go into the noisy environment and turn it off when you leave, back to auto.

IIRC there’s a setting that needs to be changed in Target.
The audi can do that.
I’ve had two audis that didnt do it. Now that I have a better hearing instrument specialist he makes sure he does. And my Paradise P90R’s work better, so I hear better.
Do you know what specific setting it was?
Target has a setting for domes.
I don’t do do it yourself fitting.
I know because my fitter showed it on his computer screen
That it kicks in, 65dB I think I read in another post, but that’s adjustable, strong or weak points, this would be great to adjust in the MyPhonak App, you could also make another Sphere Program for different environments.
I think @jim_lewis adjusted it in target here.
