I’m at the next stage in trying to use my new device. This time I’m trying to connect up the Roger on to my TV which is a Sony Bravia KD-49X8309C. I have connected the optical digital out cable to the TV and connected the other end to the Roger base station. I can see that there is output from the TV because the cable is lit. But it seems that no matter what I do, the Roger does not recognize the TV. I’ve tried changing the options on the sound menu on the TV and have tried resetting the Roger to see if that makes any difference but it doesn’t. Does anyone have any ideas as to why there is no connectivity?
The power switch on the Roger On should be in the off position when when it is in the base. Is there a musical note on the display of the Roger? Does the MyPhonak app show a Roger program. Those are clues which may help troubleshoot.
The Roger base also requires power, either by plugging the power supply into a wallsocket or by connecting the Roger Base power cable to a 5V usb source on the tv.
it could be, that you have to switch the at the TV the optical digital toslink output signal to PCM as stereo audio. ( the digital optical toslink should not feed out a 5.1 dolby signal or eqivalent)
No musical note means that the Roger is not getting a signal. Since you see the light at the TV end, do you have a different TosLink cable to try? (Keep the Roger On power switch off when streaming)
