Phonak Roger On - price and compatibility?

This seems like the biggest secret in the industry.

What is the price of the Roger On?

What is it compatible with? Does one need to have the Paradise? Or do you need an intermediate device?

I think the launch date was yesterday.

Thanks @Zebras

I looked on the hab.online website but it didn’t have any links to FM Hearing Systems and had completely forgotten about that site! Anyway…

hmm… looks like a minimum layout of around £760 - for the Roger On (£635) + receiver (£125) or £1500. Not cheap.

Are you working @glucas ? You could try Access to Work if you are.

Ha! Thanks for the thought. I was just making the comment in general rather than for myself. I am in middle age now - my heavy socialising days are over and we are in the middle of a pandemic .

I like the look of it - but my director would no way fill out the forms. Because of the low cost of KS10 I could stretch to it anyway but don’t really believe I would use it enough. 33 years ago at Uni it would have been a life safer.

So approximately $1800 US for a Roger On iN and maybe $750 for one without receivers. I think Roger X receivers are like $500 apiece new, so price is similar either way unless one can pick up used receivers with proper serial numbers and licenses intact at a good deal.

Yeah - I think the neck loop receiver prices vary depending on whether they are type 2 or 3. I think the cheaper, type 2 is probably $170 equivalent. Type 3 is for educational group settings and would be $400.

The boot receiver types are minimum $400.

I was forgetting the neck loop (Roger MyLink). Was thinking the Roger X receivers of certain serial number with transferable “licenses.”

Ok. Sure. No idea about those or if they are still compatible with this device I’m afraid.

Type 02 is more expensive as it’s for education and can have the EasyGain increased or turned down.

Type 03 is cheaper and recommended for people who aren’t in education.

I personally have the 02 type as I like to adjust the EasyGain even tho I’m not in education.

Ahh…sorry - wrong way around.

Didn’t realise how small it is. I thought it was a lot bigger!

Any advantage of using this over the select? I’m assuming this is later technology. I’m also guessing that because it is not circular and split into segments it will not be as good in a table setting.

I’m just going from memory but I think if used with Marvel or Paradise and if oriented correctly that the stereo mics will provide directionality. I suspect specs or product info will provide more info.

Just answering my own question the website fmhearingsolutions says that the Roger On is largely a replacement for the Select and Pen, and is effective in group situations of up to 7 people. Beyond that the table mic is recommended.

Yes it’s taking the features of the Select and the pointing mode of the Pen in to one device, I believe.

Does anyone know if you can use a Select and a On together on the table?

I know you can’t use two Select together on the table.

Think this is a mistake of FM Hearing System’s but it says it can connect to a mobile phone.

Oh maybe they are talking about the App and not that is has Bluetooth in it.
