Hi community. I would like to pair my Audeo M90 HA with a Roger On. My audi told me I also have to purchase the Roger Installer and the Roger X to be able to pair the devices. She was not really sure about that, so his advice could be wrong.
I’m not sure, but I think the Roger Installer and the Roger X help to set up the Roger On microphone. I don’t think that’s my part of the business.
There’s lots of threads on the forums about this, but here’s the “Reader’s Digest” version: If you have a Roger On iN, it comes with receiver “licenses” that can be transferred into your hearing aids. If you don’t get an iN version (or get one with licenses already removed) then you need to purchase the Roger X receivers. Typically the audiologist would install the receivers using the Roger Installer, but it is possible to do it yourself. It sounds like either your audiologist isn’t very knowledgeable or just doesn’t want to be helpful.
Hello @steffner, Roger x installer isn’t easy to get a hold of, if you are not an A.uD…. I eventually got one shipped from eBay in South Korea, it took about 12 days to ship to UK, but customs are the main hold up. If you go this route, in hindsight I would never have bought the Roger x Receivers type (03) as the type (02) Educational, will connect to all Roger devices, where as the type (03) is restricted to certain Roger devices…. The Roger x type (02) is obviously more expensive, but more practical in the long run, if you plan other Roger devices in the future? Good Luck, cheers Kev
Thankk you for your answers. It means I don’t need the Roger X and the Installer if I buy a Roger On iN.
It’s so confusing with all this terms by Phonak: Roger Direct, On, iN. I’m lost. There are 2 versions of Roger On: iN and not iN? Are they both compatible with my Marvels? For the not iN versiin I do need the Roger X and Installer. I’m I right?
My audi wants to help, but he is not really well informed.
To test the Roger On, I received a pair of Paradise HAs, while they are easy to pair. I couldn’t use the Roger on with my Marvels. Why is this so?
Not sure why you couldn’t use the Roger On In with your Marvels @steffner, e-mail Phonak and ask them? I have both Paradise & Marvel aids, 2 sets of Marvel, and 1 set of Paradise, with Roger x installer I can swap the licenses around, if I want to move the licenses from Naida P90’s to say, Naida M70’s, it doesn’t take long, 5 minutes maximum, I plug in a blank Roger x receiver, you have to remember which Roger x license is in which hearing aid (by keeping notes) these licenses are restricted to whichever Roger x receiver they came from, you cannot transfer a license to a different receiver, or indeed a different type of receiver! This all sounds fairly complicated, it is in actual fact a very simple process, anyway, procedures as follows, plug corresponding Roger x receiver into the Roger x installer, switch on, no green light will show, meaning the Roger x is empty, switch on the hearing aid you want to remove the license from, and place it on the Roger installer hearing aid symbol, it will start to flash green, it is removing the license, Roger x will now go solid green, the license has been removed and is back in the Roger x receiver…… Installing is much the same, fit the Roger x into the installer 3 prong plug, switch on, Roger x will show a solid green light, meaning it has a license, switch on your hearing aid, making a note of which aid it is, and from which Roger x, place on the hearing aid symbol on the installer, it will start to flash green, then solid green, the license is now installed in the hearing aid, the plugged in Roger x will now show no green light, meaning the license has been used! Apologies for the long winded explanation…… Cheers Kev
Did you “install” the receivers from the Roger On iN? If your audi wants to help, all they have to do is call Phonak support. They’ll have a lot more success with that than you will.
Thanks Zebras for the explanation. Where can I find this information?
That means that the receivers are included. The only thing needed ist the Installer. That should each audi own to be able to pair the Roger On with the Marvel/Paradise HAs.
