So, I’ve been reading older posts in this category re: using Target software to change the performance level of TRIAL HAs… my daily HAs are Phonak P-90-Rs, but i have acquired a set of Phonak P-30-RTs and have copied my fitting to them… but of course some programs don’t copy due to the performance level being lower. More out of a challenge & curiosity than anything else, does anyone know HOW TO UP THE PERFORMANCE LEVEL of NON-trial HAs? I have monkey’d all over Target without success, and the Target Programming Guide only addresses TRIAL… leading me to start to believe that it can’t be done. Any experience, strength, & hope on this one?
Have you found Trial & Tools on the bottom of the first page when loading Target? Between News and Updates?
I am pretty sure it can’t be done. Phonak wants to ensure with appropriate effort that this is not possible. Even if the chip and other hardware is the same. Otherwise the providers would only order the low cost models. And then sell them as high quality ones.
If it’s not a trial Aid, then it can’t be upgraded.
Definitely can’t be done for free, it’s basically just a firmware update to change them, as you’ve noticed with the trial models the chip is unlocked so all the features are there, Unitron offers this on their respective models (but not for free, you pay a fee to the clinic to get the level you want)
Thank you all for your perspectives…yeah, I tried the “trial & tools” but Target won’t connect to the HAs there…i guess it knows they’re not trial. Meh, c’est la vie…its all good…just gonna pack them away for when my P-90s go kaput.
Ok, this explains it. I misunderstood you earlier.
The level change is only with Trial aids. Otherwise the aids can not be level changed.
