Phonak paradise P70 vs P30 difference

I read somewhere in this forum that P70 model has two microphones and P30 has one. Is this right? When I look at photos of these two models on the google search I don’t seee difference in microphone numbers.

I want to buy P30 one because many fancy features in the P70 model have no advantages for me. I dislike and get suffered from soundrelax, windblock, etc. These features mostly lower sound quality for my loss.

Might just be Mic holes?

My Grandma had a Phonak Roger Focus and despite having no Microphones in it, it looked like there were Mic holes on the actual Roger Focus.

On my Sky M70 SP it looks like there are 3 Mic holes even tho there are only 2. On my Sky V70 UP, there are 2 Mic holes.

Audiologist here! All Paradise models will have the same number of mic ports whether it is a 30,50,70, or 90. In the picture, you are comparing an M series to a V series with the V series being quite a bit older. Each Series, P, M, V, B etc will have a different “form factor” which is the case.

The difference between the 70 and 30 models are:
The 70 has 6 categories used to categorize your environment, the 30 has 4
The 70 has speech in loud noise and speech in 360 degrees, the 30 does not
The 70 has ultrazoom advanced, the 30 has ultrazoom essential
The 70 has echoblock, the 30 does not
The 70 has tap control, the 30 does not
The 70 has stereozoom, the 30 does not
The 70 has windblock, the 30 does not
The 70 has soundrelax, the 30 does not
The 70 has real ear sound, the 30 does not

If you don’t know what all of those features are, in summary the features above help the 70 be more clear with better understanding in more difficult listening situations, especially in background noise.

Hope that helps!!!

Only the rechargeable’s have tap control. Not all of them.

I was told only the M90 or P90 have EchoBlock. Obviously older models as well.

Obviously the picture is just an example. I didn’t say they were the Paradise. I was just showing two different hearing aids having different amount of holes and I also mentioned that the older Roger Focus had Mic holes but NO actual Microphones.

But the higher levels also have more channels, allowing the audi to adjust the performance to match your hearing loss more exactly.

I have the P70 UP aids and l did have a P30 UP aid. All of the P UP models have two microphones. Mine is is the 675 battery BTE aid and it doesn’t have tap control. The 675 battery doesn’t supply enough voltage for the tap control function. Only the rechargeable models have the tap control.
You are better off having two P UP aids and Autosense OS programs use 4 microphones.

Thanks for the information. Essentially, they are the same aids with P70 having some extra features.

Thanks. I didn’t notice that two aids can communicate with one another for better speech understanding? My phonak sky V 70 aids don’t have that feature.

An audiologist told me many years ago that I don’t even need 5 channels. Sure more channels would allow more adjustments but I would be fine with 12 channels according to another audiology expert.

They do. Mine do.

My older Naida V90 SP aids do communicate with each other.

Thanks for the information.
