Phonak Paradise Cros - Intermittemt Failure of the Audio from the Cros _ Solved Blutooth issue

I have had a Phonak Paradise with a Cros from the dead ear for nearly two years. Now the audio from the Cros stops after a while and the functionality is impaired.

Phonak have had it back once and it was fine for ten days but now it is playing up again.

The Cros seems to be connected to the aid because if I adjust the volume of the cros there are acknowledgement bleeps and if I take the aid out of range, or, open and close the battery door the aid plays the disconnection and connection jingles. Power on and off on the Cros does not clear the fault. However: if I either change the program on the main aid or power cycle the main aid the fault clears for a while.

Has anyone else experienced a similar fault so I can report the issue to Phonak in a way that allows them to resolve it?

TIA Henry B

A post in case anyone has similar Bluetooth issues.

I had noticed before that the aid went quiet occasionally but the problem became more frequent. The aids were returned by Phonak and were initially OK but after ten days the problem recurred and I suddenly realised it started when I was near other devices. The aid is configured to take calls from an A12 Samsung and audio from a Win10 PC. Normally the aid switches to these sources automatically when a call comes in or audio is played. For some reason the aid is now switching to silent Bluetooth sources and when you move out of range of the device there is a very significant latency before the aid switches back to the Cros. My solution is to unpair the aid as the incoming calls were a nuisance and I prefer to use the device speakers to listen to audio.

On a positive note I also found the setting to disable speech in loud noise in the auto mode. I found the aid went into this mode too easily and if I raised the threshold it would not activate when I needed it. Personally I find this mode very uncomfortable unless you really need it in a crowded setting because the beam is very narrow and often picks up a louder conversation many metres away cancelling out the conversation you are listening to. I now have speech in loud noise set as a manual option. The net result is the auto option is now superb especially when it automatically switches to music mode.
