Phonak P90 auto switching

I like many features of the Phonak P90 but i totally despise its automatic switching of modes. I dislike it so much that I will check out other brands when a new set is needed! It constantly switches the mode I have selected during the day without asking me !! I just have to walk near the TV and it switches away from my choice of modes!!! Please, someone say there is a way to turn off that awful auto switching of modes !

Turn off/unplug the TV connector?

You can add a program to the aids like a calm situations program. Then program them to automatically boot up to that program and they will not do what your describing. You will still be able to manually change them to auto if you find a situation that requires that type of functionality.
I have done this with at least 2 pairs of phonak aids, it fits my needs perfectly.

Talk to your audiologist, hooking up to tv connector automatically can be stopped in software adjustments as a lot of other seemingly automatic behavior can be.

Mine don’t auto switch to anything. Unless you’re saying autosense is switching. Which it’s supposed to. But you can have autosense disabled and have the audiologist put in different programs which you would switch manually

I’m glad to hear yours doesn’t auto switch !! IT is VERY VERY annoying. I’ll open target and see if i can find the button to turn it off, I had looked earlier but didn’t find it.

I have P70 UP aids and yes sometimes it gets annoying when someone is talking to me and l have to use my phone app or unplug the power plug to my TV connector. Other times, l like the auto connect to tv connector. There is an option to disable auto connect to tv connector in Target software.
My aid doesn’t automatically switch programs everywhere l go. I have it set to Comfort in noise to stop hearing the humming of window a/c and while driving or riding in vehicle. Normally l use my phonak app to change programs. In Target software, it shows a high percentage of manual program changes. When watching TV with the TV connector, l usually turn off the microphone to help prolong battery life of my aids.

I listen to my phone (podcasts) a lot through the tv connector. It takes a minute to stop things to talk to someone. When they interrupt a bunch in a short period it gets irritating and tiresome. But the streaming is so clear, and it uses less HA juice than BT streaming.

The only program switches that I don’t particularly like is when it is noisy and the speech in loud noise kicks in. (Think the church fellowship hall, with worst acoustics…) My MAVs close up and I go into a bubble. I have to look at the speaker to be able to follow. Otherwise I think it does a swell job switching around.
