I am new to this forum and I need some help based to your experience. I want to purchase new HA and I am between Phonak L90 312 and P90 13T. My right ear has severe to profound hearing loss while my left is moderate.
No doubt L90 technology is better than P90 but I dont know if it will last 5 days with 1-2 hours per day of streaming.
Should I sacrifice some technology to have better battery durarion?
P.S.: Sorry for my English.
P.S2: Infinio is not an option for me since there is not any version with disposable batteries
I have the L90-312, moderate flat loss, stream less than one hour a day. I’m getting about 4 days on batteries, less if I stream more. With the Bluetooth connection to the right HA you would probably get even less time but I think it can be switched over to the left. I do think the newer tech is better.
I would wait a bit to see if phonak releases a Sphere with 312 disposable batteries.
Best thing is to take part in this AMA Artificial Intelligence AMA with senior Phonak experts if it goes ahead and ask phonak employee about it.
Usually use Costco brand but have used others, same 4 days.
The L90-312s are pretty good for me but as you know if you want battery aids your choices are limited and you have to give up a lot of new advanced features. I’ll probably get the next generation of rechargeable aids and use the 312s as backups.
Naida L90 SP (also with 13s) - I use thick tubes and moulds with these, although I’ve also used thin tubes and slimtips.
They both fall within my Audiogram
I also have some M70s with 312 batteries.
I use the TV Connector a lot! I Bluetooth stream less, but still maybe an hour a day.
If I remove the stickers from the batteries and let them stand for 5 minutes before putting in the aids, I can get:
13: 7-8 days
312: 4-5 days
As far as Hearing aid performance, I prefer the Naida Lumity SP. There isn’t much difference in the the programmes that make up Autosense, and I set programme options the same. The Naidas just sound richer, and my speech recognition is subtley better with them.
Battery life doesn’t worry me as I always carry a strip of spares, and 312s are ok, and take up less room in my wallet
Yeah, the Naida is another option I’ve considered for myself. I thought that if RIC works for me bigger BTE might be too much. But if there is an advantage In hearing clarity it may be something to try. The slim tube option sounds interesting.
In comparing slim tubes with custom vented slimtips and thick tubes and vented moulds, I prefer the latter. The fitting range is lower with thin tubes, and doesn’t sound as natural.
Strangely, I prefer the bigger HA, as I rarely use the app, and switch programs with long presses. The small RIC P90-13T wobble around, if you know what I mean
