Phonak Nathos Nova M issues

Hi, having had my first hearing aid fitted yesterday at Specsavers, I have tried but failed to connect to the Phonak app and Bluetooth on my Samsung phone.
Is it my technological inadequacies or the hearing aid and do others have similar problems.
I have phoned Specsavers and they have said to pop back into the store.

Have you actually paired your aid with your phone. Check settings/ bluetooth to see if it is paired. Also is it a single aid you have, If so it which ear? Normally with Phonak the right side aid picks up the bluetooth signal and transmits it to the left side.

Hi Barry
Can’t seem to pair the aids (two) to my phone. I tried that first, before the app.

Just tried again and my phone says no device found. Really frustrating.

OK,
Switch your hearing aids off and on, then go immediately into your Bluetooth menu and search. You phone should find one. Pair it. You’re now set up for calls and audio (streaming).

Switch them off and on again and open the App, and pair both aids in there. This will creat 2x LE Bluetooth connections. The app should now work.

Edit: Switching them off and on, makes them “discoverable” in Bluetooth.

Peter

Thanks Peter, I have tried that but I will have another go. I am beginning to think it might be a problem with my phone because I couldn’t get my ear buds to connect to Bluetooth a few weeks ago, although other devices do connect.
Anyway, here goes, fingers crossed.

Right, just done what you suggested, Peter, and it’s still not finding my aids.
Could be my phone. If I get no joy with Specsavers I shall have to visit my phone shop.

Are there any Phonak Bluetooth connections in your list of connections? If so forget all those, reboot aids and try again.

Any failed connections in there will stop connections

Here’s my list. Those that look like a tablet and phone, Are Low Energy App connections. If you see any of those, they may be blocking your connection, so “forget” them.

I have 6 pairs of Phonak Bluetooth aids, and I find them all incredibly reliable, once connected

You e tried restarting your phone, I trust?

I have his aids, and many other Phonaks. It’s usually a problem created when a connection fails on installation. Other Bluetooth interference could also cause problems, a bit like when using Target. Switch off other devices that may have a connection. I also have multiple Samsung Galaxy phones. I’d really be surprised if this can’t be resolved on here.

In all my issues with connections, it’s usually solved by removing previous pairings, and starting again. I’ve never had to uninstall the “MyPhonak” app. However, that’s the only option if you connect via the Amplifon App.
