Hi I have and appointment tomorrow and am trying to think up a plan of action if i don’t get the oticon cros aids when i ask about them so was thinking i would ask for a more powerful hearing aid for my right ear and was looking at the the next options up in the range the nhs offer and not sure what the difference is in the sp and up hearing aids i have a mild to profound hi frequency loss
Phonak Nathos Auto SP are the Bolero V70 SP. This only has first generation Sound Recover. Takes a size 13 battery.
Phonak Nathos Auto UP are the Naida V70 UP. This has the second generation Sound Recover 2. Takes a size 675 battery.
EDIT -
Thank you much zebras really hoping to get something sorted out tomorrow
Let us know how it all goes.
Hope you can get your Roger set up this time.
Will post how it goes when i get back tomorrow
Todays appointment went well the audiovestibular person checked my ears and asked some questions and seemed pleased that everything was ok then told her about my problems with my cros aids and asked about the oticon cros and they said they don’t do the oticon asked about trying to get the mylink and clip on mic set up and she took me downstairs where I was finally able to get someone to set up the mylink and clip on mic didn’t ask about getting the sp or up today for my right ear because i decided to wait and see how it goes with the clip on mic and mylink first before jumping in and asking about changing to one of those. Feel happy with the results of todays appointment.
Oh good, I’m glad it went well.
Good that you’ve got your Roger set up now. I hope you like the Roger. I use my Roger all the time.
Thanks I think i will I just really hope that now that it is setup it means i won’t feel like i need a more powerful hearing aid for my right ear as I’m not sure if the way i was feeling about that was to do with noisy situations or if it is a general feeling of needing something to help pick out the different types of sounds more but I’ll come across that if it is needed. Just a quick question will both the SP and UP work with my cros?
The CROS will work with both the SP and UP.
Have you managed to use your Roger? You can use it to listen to TV as well.
Yes I’ve used it in a brief test but not for a long period of time which it sound really good hoping I’ll have an occasion to use it more soon I’m still noticing some struggle making out certain quieter sounds but I’m going to monitor that and see what happens
You can ask for quieter sounds (35 dB) to be increased.
Many adjustments can be done to your current Aids.
Thank you I’m going to keep going for a bit to give things a full test with the clip on mic and then if quiet sounds are still a problem will make an appointment to ask about adjustments or a more powerful hearing aid for the right ear
