My dad recently got new hearing aid Phonak Naida M70-SP. He is not satisfied with the current sound and so far seeing hearing aid professional
to make it sound better has been unsuccessful. So I started thinking is it possible to do this myself.
To my understanding I need Phonak Target program. Where can I download this?
And I also need Noahlink Wireless.
Do I need anything else, does my PC have to have Bluetooth or is Noahlink connected by USB wire?
Welcome to the forum, you’ll need to do a little bit of research before jumping in, don’t worry its easy enough but you should have a bit of knowledge up your sleeve so to speak, so first up read the target user guide here
Next ask questions here on the forum, there’s plenty of us doing DIY to help you along.
This model has the possibility that you can change some settings in smartphone with the Phonak app but after dad’s last visit to hearing professional the app doesn’t let you change settings anymore. Is this a bug or did the professional change some setting so this isn’t possible anymore? Any ideas?
Close the app and uninstall the app on the smartphone.
Go to the Bluetooth settings on the smartphone.
in the list of paired devices, find the two or three items that represent the user’s hearing aids.
Note that the third item listed represents the phone/streaming functionality.
Click on each of the paired devices and unpair them.
Reinstall the myPhonak app from the App Store.
follow the introductory instructions until you reach the “Start” area. Then press “Pair device”.
Follow the pairing instructions.
When you reach the “Pairing your hearing aids with myPhonak” screen, restart the hearing aids. You will find the instructions on the screen.
click “Next” in the app to start the pairing. Follow the instructions until you reach the “Pairing complete!” screen.
On the following website you find an overview and explanation how to apply the settings from MyPhonak app to the settings in Phonak Target
This could be helpfull to find a setting via myPhonak and then fixate this in the standard settings of the hearing aids via the Target fitting software.
Hi
Reinstalling MyPhonak app did the trick, thanks for help.
I have now managed to adjust dad’s HA in Target software much better to his liking, but he says that sounds stop too sudden.
I believe he means that he would like to have some sort of small reverb, very small reverb.
Can this be done in Target settings?
I only saw some automatic setting which was supposed to remove the reverb but didn’t see anywhere the possibility to add some.
Since there is probably not an option to directly add some reverb do you have any ideas how to remove this staccato (musical term) like behavior?
Interesting question, i cant help myself and i too would be interested in how one would go about that, we have a couple of pros that could offer advice, but quite possibly just needs to adjust to the way things sound now.
