Phonak nadia l70up wind noise

Had my aids fitted today. Audiologist did something with wind noise and when the wind blows the hearing aids shut off altogether. Any idea what she did?

I’m thinking I’m going to get my own noahlink and program them myself. I think I could live with them but the best program that I can get to is “music” and sounds the most “normal” coming from sumo xp hearing aids. I do like the bluetooth streaming and calls.

Yeah sounds like the Windblock feature is set to high, this is something you could fix yourself with the Noahlink wireless and Target software.

I’m with you on this. I’ve self programmed for a year or so, and I turn off windblock in every programme except “Phone”

Yep. Makes me mad. I don’t like my audiologist in the first place and then doing that with my aids @#$$##!!!

Another thing I’d investigate is what settings have been set for “WhistleBlock”. I personally set this as low as I can get away with. If I cup my hand over my ear, I can induce feedback, which is normal. If I remove my hand, that feedback should stop. If it doesn’t, I increase the slider, until it does. I can get away with mine being around “6”. The reason I do this (and minimising Windblock) is that these measures will take away high frequency gains, making things sound dull, so I do everything to avoid that.

I had this issue with my Phonak Sphere’s initially, too. The hearing aids would turn into earplugs in the wind.

Like others are saying, the answer was to reduce the “Windblock” to nearly 0. Phonak’s default is too aggressive.

yup can’t explain it myself but yeah everything sounds dull right now and it’s effing annoying.

Sounds good. From all the input I’m getting here i’m definitely just going to buy my own noah and fix the &!@$#@!!! thing.
