I need another reason NOT to get a Tesla. The car uses your phone as a key via bluetooth. What are the ramifications of having my HAs always paired with my phone? How will they play together?
Can’t really answer your question but this point alone would make the Tesla s non starter for me if true. Bluetooth is way to unreliable to function as a key for an automobile in my opinion.

I’m guessing neither of you is actually interested in getting a Tesla, but I wouldn’t worry about this particular issue.
Your phone can communicate with multiple Bluetooth devices without trouble, so unlocking your car will have no bearing on your HA connection. And Tesla provides an unlock keycard to authenticate your phone or unlock the car without the phone present.
Bluetooth has no problem with multiple simultaneous data-only connections; it’s the audio/handsfree connections where you have to choose, since generally you don’t want more than one of those active.
So the only Bluetooth issue I have with our Tesla also applies to our other non-Tesla cars: my phone automatically switches audio to the car when I’m in it, but doesn’t automatically switch back to the HAs when I leave the car.
I have a Model 3. There is no conflict with Bluetooth being used as a key and your hearing aids. Tesla differentiates using Bluetooth for the key and how it streams audio. You have a choice if you want to stream music and take phone calls over your HAs or the car.
It actually works very well.
So, your HAs are connected to your phone. You approach the car. Then what? Do you have to disconnect HAs from BT on phone and connect phone to car? Phone will only connect to one device at a time.
It should switch over to the car when you sit down and close the door.
Picked KS 10 last week.Tested on Model 3.I approach the car with music streaming to my hearing aid it automatically unlocks the car (still phone in pocket) and switches to Tesla audio seamlessly only when you start the car and stop music streaming when you exit the car.(didn’t test with phone calls). You can also change your streaming and phone calls to HA on Tesla bluetooth profile or you can switch manually audio path.So far I didn’t face any problems and I second DanInSD.
