Phonak Marvel with iphone vs android

To those that have used Phonak Marvels with both phone OS’s, any notable differences? Comments?

I need a new cell phone & I’m loosely thinking about switching back to iphone. I’ve been an android user since long before getting hearing aids. These things work great with android. Will I experience any frustrations if I were to switch? Does anything work better about them with iphone?

My aids are M90-13T

My wife has the KS9 aids, I used to have the Phonak Audeo M90 RT aids. She uses an iPhone and had a Samsung S9 at the time.
My best answer for you is both have been really nice. Each of us had to get a few phone settings adjusted for best results. She uses her phone often and really enjoys the hands free aspect of the KS9/Phonak aids. I know I sure did, miss it now using Cochlear processors and a Google Pixel 3 phone. I randomly hang up on people holding the phone in front of my face getting my hand on the power button.

Anyway, from reading there was a lot of problems with the newest iPhones and Marvel and Paradise aids. That may have been fixed with Apple updates, not sure.

Doesn’t sound like it will be an issue, but for those who are used to “Made for iPhone” features, Marvels can be frustrating because they don’t support them. Marvels use Classic Bluetooth and work fine with iPhones, but are not “Made for iPhone.”

mmm…made for iphone features?
so there are features then that won’t work with an iphone?

Correct. I’m not an iPhone user so can’t offer detail. Things I know: 1) There is no find my hearing aid feature with the Marvels. 2)If you’re streaming a phone call to the Marvels, you have to use the hearing aid micophones. (you don’t talk into the phone) There are likely other and if you’ve had other Made for iPhone hearing aids, don’t expect things to work exactly the same. Read the directions.

yeah well, I guess I probably should read the book…

I never knew there was a find my hearing aids feature, so I’m not missing that… although I guess that is an interesting even if not overly useful thing.

& I love using the mics in my aids for phone calls now. That’s what I like about them! Completely hands free and it works great. I wouldn’t want it without that anyway…
