Phonak Marvel recharegable battery replacement cost

Looking at purchasing a set of used Marvels online and was wondering what the cost of rechargeable battery replacement actually is. Have read online anywhere from $200.00 for a pair to $2,000.00. I called Lloyd’s repair service and they can’t do it. Does anybody have an actual cost and is Phonak the only place to have it done?

Are you sure they are out of warranty?

If they are purchased used does the warranty transfer to the new purchaser … and since you don’t have a audiologist how would you send them to Phonak ?

I have read that VA issued aids will be confiscated and returned to the VA. ???

I am sure the Marvels and paradise aids I have are VA issued… but for the cost difference of $3500 I can just purchase another set  that is probably cheaper than the repair bill.

I am not sure but would you think the warranty would transfer with the aids??

I guess not.

The thought occurred to me re-reading that document that the “resale” may be referring to the dealer selling HAs then “reselling” them to another outfit not authorized by Sonova vs . Regardless, I’m not sure there is a single answer. There is a one year “international” warranty, and then “local” warranties which may have different terms depending. Mine are on a three year warranty. But beyond a warranty end date, I don’t have much info on T’s & C’s.

Great question! Regarding the VA aids, I bought a Phonak aid on Ebay 3-4 yrs ago to replace one I had bought from my audiologist and lost - It later needed a part and my audi sent it to Phonak who held it because it was on the “VA List”. I wound up speaking with the VA guy who maintained the list who explained that the VA gives the aids to vets but that the VA does not retain ownership but just maintains the list in case they are lost or not actually sold by the vet (ie if the vet sells them fine but he only gets one once) and once i furnished him proof of purchase (I think it was from the vet himself) he removed it from the List and it was returned.

But back to the original question, has anybody actually paid for battery replacement and if so what was the cost and was Phonak the only place to get it done. Maybe these batteries DO last 6+ years and nobody has paid for replacing yet. ( but I doubt that).
