Phonak Lumirty 90

No problem and I understand why you made the statement but it is only available in Lumity model the most up to date Phonak Hearing Aid. I use Target 9.1 which is also the latest Phonak and it is not available in that although maybe a future update might have it as an option but I reiterate why would anyone want to adjust it as that would just be a retrograde step.

I borrowed another family members partner mic for a shot of and it works great when my wife wears it I can hear her clearly streamed through my headphones apart from some specific words and phrases like ā€œJohn I saw this absolutely gorgeous handbag … etcā€ and the like which the the unit does not recognise and conveniently seems to block out.

My intention though is to wear it around MY neck when I am out to amplify other peoples voices which works to a certain extent but the down side I can hear my own voice amplified as well.

I found one for £219 on Amazon which is cheapest I could find although might look at ebay to see if I can pick up a second hand one cheaply but I must admit it is a pretty powerful little gadget.

@Radancer I adjust certain settings (Target 9.1) in both my M70s and P90s, because I dislike Phonak’s assumptions of what I want to hear, and where I want to hear it from. I also reduce feedback control and whistleblock, in most programs, as they both take huge chunks out of the speech frequency gains. Most users like Autosense (3-5), others don’t. I’m in the latter camp. Each to their own I suppose.

I’m not self programming my P90s as my Audiologist did a first class job, I’ve just tinkered with some of the streaming and sliders in some programmes. I am, however, self programming my M70s, which has vastly improved my speech recognition, from my previous Audiologists efforts. In both cases, I have Music as my startup programme. It works for me.

@Radancer
I’ve toyed with the idea of a Partner mic, but I think my wife would refuse to wear it

A current evening in front of the telly consists of the TV Connector, and me either constantly changing the Mic/TV balance or pausing the programme, so I can hear what she says

Have you got Roger licenses installed?

I don’t think it will work great if worn around your neck, especially in noise. Second hand is a lot cheaper and new only comes with a 1 year warranty.

Yeah don’t wear it around your neck we need it closer to the sound source. If you happy to make people aware you are using it and sat around table clip it to a beaker/glass and slide the cup around the table to whoever is talking.

New comes with 2 years warranty here in the UK, and I guess 2 years in mainland Europe too, something to do EU directives…

I solved TV Connector problem. When I am listening to TV I hang a placard around my neck saying ā€œStreaming STFUā€

Dont need a Roger licence with a Partner mic.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I have a partner mic.

It works well as a tv interface if I’mtravelling.

2 year warranty is definitely a plus (depending on how easy it is to use)

If you buy it new from the retailer then it goes back to the retailer, but if you buy it for example from ebay and it still has 2 years warranty, then you will need the seller to let you know where he bought it from and see if they can help, otherwise use an alternative @Zebras has used a company that can do that, not sure what’s the company name.

I use FM Hearing Systems or HAB as Paul the owner knows I buy second hand.

I’ve just sent some Roger 18 receivers to him that are my Step Mums.

I second this – I’m hanging on to my P90Rs as long as I can, with a view to upgrading when the (hopefully) revolutionary new generation of BT aids comes out. We’ll see if that pans out.

2 years is long. For me anyway and hearing
