Phonak introduces Paradise, a new paradigm in hearing aid sound quality

I’m currently trialing the Paradise and switching streaming off via the double tap is instantaneous. So far I’m loving these new aids!

I have the Paradise 90 rechargeable. I also have P RIC in a C Shell mold. I believe the vent is 2mm. A good ear impression was sent to Phonak with the request for C Shell acrylic mold. They took it from there making the mold for the receiver and deciding what vent would most likely work the best. So far, the molds have worked great.

Hello Everyone…especially REM tech experts:) I finally decided on the Paradise rechargeable. I tried custom molds and there was too much occlusion for me, so I’m back to closed domes. I picked up yesterday and had the REM done, which was with NAL-NL2 program. However, the audiologist was not able to show me the diagram that I wanted to see that Dr. Cliff shows, where you can easily see how your hearing aids are working to correct my specific hearing loss. Instead it it a chart with numbers and a graph that I can’t understand. I asked for before and after printouts and I will try to upload for your advice? The audiologist said that the software does everything automatically and a few things changed, but he did no manual changes and it was over very fast…inserted the probes, seemed to check for correct insertion as he looked at computer which made noise and then adjusted, then I heard the languages and sounds and that was it. What are your thoughts? Was this a real REM test? How do the results look to anyone who can understand? Thank you soooo much in advance for your time.

Have anyone here tried both the Paradise and the ReSound One (w/m&rie) and compared them, or seen a “real” review or comparison by someone else?

I’ve tried ReSound One for a month and I’ve tried the Paradise for a week, and will chose one or the other in a months time.

This will be my first HAs ever, and I’ve only had hearing loss for about 6 months, so I’m quite new to the whole thing, and not exactly sure what to expect…

I tried both and preferred the Phonak Paradise. The Resound ones were not comfortable in my ear, so it my not be a fair comparison. Regarding speech clarity, I found the Paradise to be better. I think everyone is different and has to test for themselves to see what works for you. Good luck!

I have also trialed both the Ones((two weeks) and Paradise (one week) and although I think they both provide acceptable speech understanding, directionally and comfort I have decided to purchase the Paradise. It actually boiled down to the BT connectivity in the fact that I switch between my iPhone and iPad many times throughout the day and the Paradise can connect simultaneously to both whereas the Ones cannot. also decided to purchase the rechargeable version due to the tap control (doesn’t work every time but cool) and I like the autosense 4.0. .

What diameter of venting of custom molds?

Unfortunately my ear canals are so small and oddly shaped that Phonak could only make 2 mm in the cshells. I tried for the slim tips but they couldn’t do that either. Oh well… now if I could just get these new hearing aids programmed correctly I’ll be happy. But I don’t know if my audiologist has the knowledge to do it. I may be returning them and buying the hearing aids from a discount place. Then I can pay one of Dr. Cliff’s people to program them. I have accepted poorly programmed hearing aids for 10 years and now I understand the process more.

I understand. I also look for ways of customization a few issues tied with HAs: REM, recently Acoustically Optimized Ventilation (maybe it’s enough 2mm diameter with shorter vent canal?). Keep my finger crossed to your success;)

I am currently trying Phonak Paradise (RT-90). I find them somewhat unstable, both in themselves and with the Roger Pen / Table Mic. I can edit something in the app (ie. change some of the frequencies) and a few minutes later, the setting has returned to standard. Or I can have the roger pen connected, and suddenly it goes back to autosense and I hear nothing through the roger pen. The pen is still on and blinking green, but I have to enter the app, wait for the connection and choose the roger program for the pen to work again.

I use an andriod phone. What can I do to fix this? I did get a tips to turn off notifications, but I can’t turn off all the notifications, and the ones I’ve turned off haven’t made any difference.

Has that bug, Cliff is talking about in the vid (being thrown out of a custom program when any notif comes in) , already been solved?

edit: as I see @athorod’s post, appaerantly not.

Are all P users bumping into this?

I was in a web demo with Phonak and asked that question, and they said they needed the higher voltage of the rechargeable battery to make the motion sensors work. Also space issues since the battery takes up space where the sensors are.

I am using a P90 R for 1 month, it’s enough for you to tap your ear behind your hair. You don’t need to touch device. So it’s a good experience to have.

I have the Paradise/Audeo Life aids and “tap control” (tapping on the pina - and thank you SO MUCH for clarifying that, cuz I was tapping all over my ear to no avail) does not do a thing.

I’m guessing this is an option I have to have my audi enable?

You can enable etc in the App for Tap Control.

Hey THANKS for that! I’m getting in to see my audi tomorrow and by golly, I’ll get the “pina colada” tap control set up!

I find that the “tap control” works better on my Paradise P90R’s with the new App. My habit is to tap on the side of my head, my temple. Works well. Looks strange when others see it…

Ah! So are you saying I’d need to download the Phonak app on my Android cellphone in order to activate the “tap control”? Cuz I don’t have that on my phone as it had so many negative reviews here… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I’ve used the old app and the new one. My first reaction was very negative. That’s because things had changed. Once I got past that I found the App more useful. I’m glad I have it. I wish it was better. Frankly I’m very disappointed they put crap for health in it. A simple fitness band does a better job.

I would encourage you to try it out. And be patient, as I wasn’t and it took me longer!

PHONAK had an app for my old copilot II with my old hearing aids. And then they deleted it. That was … (carefully biting my tongue.) So I don’t trust PHONAK to continue to support the product I buy with useful apps.

Yes that’s what I said earlier. It’s all in the myPhonak App.
