Phonak Infinio Virto - lack of any available connectivity to Target app

Just ordered new Phonak Virto I-10 NW aids and then realised with disappointment that they aren’t compatible with my existing Noahlink Wireless. Of course I knew “NW” meant non-wireless but was still expecting some kind of humanly possibly way to connect these to the Phonak Target app.

My Phonak Target app confirms they require the ancient Noahlink wired (no longer available from what I can see) or the equally ancient HI-PRO plus CS44A cable with a battery size 10 connection - which I cannot find anywhere online.

Given its 2025 it does seem rather frustrating that this brand new top of the range model requires cables/devices as old as the ark that are no longer available.

Does anyone know if the above is still the case?

The funny thing is that while ordering these I asked my audiologist to tweak the settings on my super old circa 2012 Virto Q Nano aids (which I believe uses the same connectivity) and she couldn’t even find the cable…

I’m afraid I don’t have an answer for you, but I can empathize with your frustration and offer you my heartfelt sympathy.

Stuff like what you describe is so annoying!

Yeah so it’s the same with a lot of stuff nowadays, but the cables are available eBay and AliExpress etc you have to remove the battery door to connect the cable as well, you can pick the Mini Pro from AliExpress which is a bit easier to use then the others, why not just order the wireless models?

Thanks.

I’m switching back from a wireless HA to the Virto’s as I prefer the CIC type.

Just didn’t expect the connectivity to still remain the same as it was 13 years ago.

I can’t find the correct cables with a battery size 10 fit anywhere and I’ve seen on this forum that others have had the same issue in previous years.

It depends on the vendor, there’s a couple that would need to order them I’d guess, but the cables don’t use the size 10 pill adaptor, they have a plug from memory this is why the door needs to be removed, unless they have changed it for the latest models?)

Thanks.

Yes - I’ve seen a few online ads for the red 10A above but am assuming it needs an equivalent blue version for the other aid.

Which is what I can’t see anywhere.

Yes I’m sure they could get the left blue as they have the right (red) just reach out to the vendors and confirm, they will understand that it’s always a pair that people would want.

Thanks for that!

Think I’ve found what I was looking for as one of the AliEXpress sellers has both left and right 10A cables.

If I get these and the HI Pro 2 is that all I need to connect the Phonak Virto models for use with the Phonak Target software?

Or do I need anything else?

(Am expecting I would need to remove the battery drawer but that looks do-able)

Well first thing I’d do is check in target, so just set up a demo simulation for your exact model and then you get a choice of which programming device is suitable plus which cables, and then you can go ahead with your order, the Mini Pro is a lot cheaper then HiPro USB

Thanks for that.

I did exactly that a couple of days ago so great minds think alike :slightly_smiling_face:

It confirmed that the only options were “Noahlink” and “Hi Pro”. Couldn’t see any info on the cables.l but guessing it’s the same as the other Virto models.

Yeah ok so that looks like you can go ahead with getting what you need, just be aware that the Noahlink wireless will be required if you decide to upgrade or even swap brands/models in the future, cheers

Cheers for that.

I’ve had a Noahlink Wireless for the past couple of years & it works great - just gutted its not compatible with these smaller Virto models.

So not possible to talk with your clinic and get them swapped over for wireless models?

The wireless models are larger - and I wanted to go back to the smaller IIC models that sit in the ear canal and are less noticable. Its what I was used to with my old Virto Q’s.

Sure it’s always personal choice which you feel comfortable with, maybe in the future you’ll go for wireless

I’ve been using a wireless model (the Phonak Paradise P312 earbud style aids) for the past 2 1/2 years but found the Bluetooth audio quality to be pretty poor so ended up disabling it / never using the features.

The only real benefit was the ease of Noah wireless connectivity which allowed me to reset them / tweak a few settings if I had any issues.

Much easier than needing to book an appointment with my audiologist each time.

Yes definitely it’s easier to sort in the comfort of your home, and at any time you wish, nothing worse then being told by you local clinic that we’re “booked out” for a week or two when you really need something sorted.
