I’ve had my new Phonak Audéo Sphere Infinio 90’s for a couple days now and my audi set me up with 7 different programs to try out… AUTOMATIC …SPEECH IN NOISE … SPHERIC SPEECH IN LOUD NOISE … SPEECH IN 360* … RESTAURANT and MUSIC… I’ve been retired now almost 23 yrs and luckily get to play games all day… I’m 72 yrs old and live in a VERY active retirement community in Florida with about 150,000 other old people (lol) who are retired… I primarily travel around by golf cart to all my sporting locations so I’ve had a chance to see how the new HA’s react to golf cart engine noise and also wind noise… I primarily have used AUTO program and am very happy with noise quelling and minimal static from wind noise which I made sure to have the audi max it out… I tried several programs during games of pickleball and softball and liked both the Auto and Restaurant program and have to try the Speech in 360* more it was certainly a differnt experience… while at home I was actually wearing my Resound HA’s to stream tv because my phonak tv streamer wasn’t in the day I picked up my HA’s… so during that time I activated the Spheric speech in loud noise program and monitored battery life… I left it on for 2 1/2 hours and went from a charge reading of 80% to about 60% which seemed pretty good for a constant 2/12 hr 's of that program being on … yesterday I hooked up phonak tv streamer and streamed TV watching baseball and a college football game total streaming time was about 6 1/2 hrs I started with charge reading of about 80% and finished with about 50% remaining which also was very good compared to the phonaks I trialed 2 yrs ago when trying to stream over 6hrs I would have to stick them in the charger cuz they were at about 20% or lower… so it seems even with using the new sphere program and streaming that battery life has MUCH improved… I haven’t had the oppurtunity to try them in a Restaurant enviroment to use “VERY” loud … I then switched to sphere in noise prog and the change in volume of the blower was reduced by about 90% and to see what it was like to hear voices I said several words which I was able to hear clearly using my normal voice …
One question I have is when my audi paired my Iphone he did it using bluetooth settings and now it seems my Iphone battery life drains faster… in the past using geResound ha’s pairing of iphone was done on Accessibility – Hearing Devices and then pairing?? does everyone else have their phones paired on bluetooth
I go back next week for any changes I want done… the only change so far is I need my voice quieted down a liitle because I seem to be talking loud and if I have to up my volume to hear a little better it seems like I’m almost yellingh
1 last thing… I know there were concerns about what type of moulds or tips to use and them fitting in charger… I’m wearing the same silicone moulds that I used with my Resound ha’s … my audi mentioned that there are 2 different chargers?? the 1 I have fits the ha’s and moulds in the center easily
I’m fairly certain the Spheres are not considered “made for iPhone” so you cannot pair them through the accessibility menu, but rather need to go through pairing via the Bluetooth menu.
@Ureout, Since your profile says you are in The Villages, FL, and Hurricane Milton appears to be headed right that way, perhaps with 180 mph winds, I hope you and everyone else there come out safe!
thx Jim… were hunkering down and staying put, being in central Fla so far over the last 22 yrs we’ve been lucky. … haven’t been able to really test out the new HA’s much with rain the last couple days … thx again
well I don’t have much to tell about how the trial of new HA’s is going… been cooped up in the house and staying low til Milton passes…
1 thing I can say is HA battery life on new spheres is MUCH better … the last day I’ve been streaming TV a lot and still have 50% charge left at end of night … also with a suggestion from Jordan I switched off my “stay connected” in the phonak app and now my Iphone is not being drained… well that’s it really looking forward for Fri. to be able to get out and about …
I have a question … when using the phonak tv streamer and I want to adjust the volume if I click on my HA it instead adjusts the ambient at the bottom of app shifting the slide either toward TV or Surrounding… to change my actual volume I need to open app and adjust the slide up or down… can this be changed by the audi in the settings so I can do it on my HA’s ??
i have a question on Phonak APP… I now have 5 programs on app… I deleted 3 that I didn’t care for … can my HA’s rocker switch be set up with reverse … so that if I’m in program 5 and want to go to prog. 4 I don’t have to click the button 4 times to get there??
Your HAS (hearing aid specialist) can setup 4 internal programms inside the Phonak hearing aids.
With the rocker switch you are able to cycle throught this internal programms.
I don’t know how many programms your HAS have created inside your Phonak devices.
If you have cycled upward to programm 4 (P4) and you want to go back to P3 then you could cycle downwards with the lower button.
Keep in mind, that the extra programms you have created in MyPhonak App can not accessed via the buttons on the hearing aid.
So if you want to access an self-created MyPhonak App-programm you have to open the MyPhonak App and select this distinct programm.
Self created MyPhonak programms could not be selected via the hearing aid rocker switch
Mine accesses one of the personal programs. I have three. You can see which one it is if you look under ”hearing aid programs” under the devices tab in the app. The ones with a symbol on the right will be cycled through with button pushes. The personal program selected will be the last one selected from the app.
I have Target 10.0 set up for Sphere I90s. I added 4 manual programs (linked) to standard AutoSense programs via Target. Target says that a long press down on the rocker button has the same function as a long press up. The only caveat is I don’t have my Spheres yet but I don’t think that affects the programming outcome. When I get my Spheres, I’ll see if the program order is any different with UP or DOWN button presses.
As stated on other posts, the buttons don’t really work with the app created programmes.
However, with my Marvels and Paradise aids you can add up to 3 additional programmes (plus Autosense) in the fitting software. You set the order by the order you create them.
So, as default, Autosense will start up (4 tone jingle), your 1st press will take you to Additional1, 2nd - additional2 etc.
You can change the startup programme as well, even delete Autosense altogether if you prefer
Peter
thanks for the clarification. You are all correct
I must admit that i got confused with my Starkey aids.
The Starkey cycles in every direction. Up and Down depending to the rocker switch button.
After checking again, i found with my Phonak Naida Marvel the Up and Down buttons can only cycle upwards. AutoSense → P1 → P2 → P3 → P4 → AutoSense.
regardles which button you are using.
has anyone that’s trying out the new audeo sphere infinio 90’s had a problem with left HA shutting down for a few seconds and then starting back up… I’ve had the issue a few times … I also have had connection problems with my Iphone… I opted not to stay connected in settings because of battery drain on Iphone but a few times when opening app I get a notice that this could take some time to connect… and this morning after L HA shut down again and then came back on I had a connection issue when I opened app it took about 15 minutes for both HA’s to connect… normal hookup time is about 5 to 10 sec.
I also had to go to audi last week because I had a not connected notice in RED and HA’s had to be totally rebooted … my audi thinks it could be a product issue and will be contacting Phonak later this afternoon
went to see audi again over my connection issues and we called phonak and talked to there tech. dept. after about 20 min. the tech advised us to have the HA’s sent back to Phonak and now I have to wait for another new set
NEW INFO… Jim Lewis you will be interested in this since I know you also wear Resound’s… since I’m waiting for a replacement pair of phonaks my audi set me up with the Resound Nexia 90’s … I have been currently wearing the Omnia’s so I honestly did not expect much of a difference in hearing but the audi told me that the rep for Resound told him that they do not have A I but they do have a new processor which is much better and faster than the Omnia’s… now I’ve only had them about 24 hrs but this morning when I was playing pickleball I tried the automatic program which was very good and I could hear talking from adjacent courts and all around me …I then switched to the hearing in noise program during a game… I was “SHOCKED” how it knocked down the noise on the courts behind me and to the side and actually help me focus just on my court… I had the settings for noise reduction set to considerable and speech focus on narrow… this was SO MUCH better than my Omnia’s and to me seemed as good or better than the Phonak’s when I used the speech in noise prog. … when I got home I also tried running my leaf blower as I did with the phonak’s and went from auto program with my volume set at normal and switched to the hear in noise prog. and there was a big drop in the sound of the blower and I could easily hear my voice… I do think the Phonak’s were a little better in that situation of knocking down noise but only when using the spheric speech in loud noise program not the speech in noise prog… I also travel by golf cart all morning and the engine noise was automatically quelled to a loud murmur in Auto prog. after about 5/10 sec. and wind noise was excellent and in a golf cart it is windy… I’m looking forward to the softball fields tomorrow to see how they work in a little different enviroment … hopefully this week in the evening I can get to 1 of our 4 local village squares where they have free live bands performing every night to see how I hear in the crowds with a band playing… 1 last thing … many mention about the size and thickness of the new phonak’s well the Nexia’s are by far the smallest and lightest hearing aid I have ever worn
